Australia - Electrically Certified Hardware

Hi, thanks for that, i just cant get it to show dpid’s, all i see is this

It looks like you have it communicating to the mcu, but I’m not sure about the ‘unknown command’. It might not matter.
At this point, you actually use push a button on the dimmer, and see what changes in this message stream. It will tell you the dpid’s it sees.

Did you ever get one and try to Tuya-convert it?

There’s another product I saw at Actrol called INTESISHOME may be suitable

Haven’t installed one myself yet.

Which seems to be supported https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/intesishome/

Looks more expensive than my solution though

I have a slightly cheaper and local option called intesisbox. I use it with my ducted daikin.
There is a custom component for it.

I had a issue with “unknown command” using tasmota therefore had problems with the device not functioning properly. So installed esphome instead. Which is working perfectly!

Reading back through the thread. You use Brilliant?
I’m just getting into more devices and au certified would be preferable. I’m eagerly following Superhouse. He is switched on and easy to understand.
So you know of any hassio user group get togethers (obviously not currently) as i find talking with others with devices in front of me much more useful.
Northern NSW or Southern QLD?

Hi mate, not aware of any get togethers, but then again I am in NZ (and locked down for 4 weeks). We have the same electrical standards, what is approved in Aus is approved here, and vice versa.

Yes I have a Brilliant Smart powerboard. This one https://www.brilliantsmart.com.au/smart-products/electrical/smart-powerboard/. It tuya converted and esphome is great with it.

I have IntesisHome for my air conditioners, not happy with their web servers. Doesn’t work more than it does.

Has anybody tried flashing the Kogan SmarterHome Smart Power Strip With USB Ports & Energy Meter. I cannot seem to find any posts about someone successfully flashing it. Searched a few different forums with no luck.

Thanks. I searched for that but clearly didn’t search well enough.

Yep flashed and working great using ESPhome

Hey Jeremy, can you confirm that everything works, e.g. power monitoring etc, and not just the basics of on/off?
Cheers

Jeremy @Syrius could you please upload your config to esphome-configs.io (or post it here and I will  )

power monitoring works - but its for the whole strip - not per individual ports.

will do! its on the list of things i should have already done :man_facepalming:

This sounds interesting. I can’t see the value of doing unless you can individually monitor each port though.
Do you think this may be possible?
Patrick

i dont think there is.

if you need individual port monitoring - just buy a kogan 4 pack of the slim line ones and load up a dumb power board :+1:
