I found with mine i have about a 30 second window from enabling setup to getting everything setup. I had to do mine 3 times over before it eventually worked
I bit the bullet and bought the remote and WiFi module and can confirm it will work without issues.
Looks like they mark it incompatible as the MB3 doesn’t come with the remote which is required to start the setup.
It ended up being an issue with the UAP. I installed another wifi router and works fine.
Hi, did you manage to find answers to your question? I was hoping to buy a wifi controller and noticed that I have the same 5 pin plug on the board. Thanks
A bit of an older post but I have looked into this a little bit.
Tldr; V2 system is very different from V1 and will not work with the current custom integration. I have successfully made and tested a proof of concept but haven’t made it too much further then that.
I was a part of the pilot program for the V2 modules and made very strong comment about them removing local control ability, they claimed it was for safety reasons but I’m not sure I’m buying that. The V2 system is now very different, the module now polls the cloud directly every 30s or so (not very in efficient IMHO) to receive it’s commands.
I did a bit of reverse engineering and noticed that it runs a ESP32. I was able to upload the firmware but made no progress in reverse engineering it. I did however find the API endpoints (and some funny comment bloopers).
I few months a go I used the results of my limited reverse engineering to write a proof of concept “man in the middle” style interface for Home Assistant (via mqtt). It was in c# and very rough around the edges but the concept worked.
The basic idea is that if you host your own API server to masquerade as the API server using local DNS you can trick the module into sending request to your your system instead of theirs. My proof of concept even forwarded the requests to the official API so maintain the original app functionality.
I began converting my proof of concept to an ESP32 so that it can its own “stand alone” device but haven’t had much time to progress it recently.
What other hardware makes up the module? Would it be possible to use the firmware you dumped and an esp32 to make your own module?
Is this still a viable option for our Bonaire systems?
I am looking to purchase the WiFi module from eBay using the following recommended link (Bonaire MyClimate - Creating a custom integration - #135 by mikz), however don’t want to spend the money if the integration to HA doesn’t work any more.
Cheers.
I use the integration daily. Have for 3 or so years (you can probably see in this thread when I bought the hardware).
The only thing I can’t speak to is whether they’ve changed something in terms of the hardware they’re selling you. I’m not up to date on all the comments in here so if people have had issues with it, they’re probably right.
Hoping someone might be able to help me please!
I have the v1 wifi module and it’s been working incredibly well - until yesterday.
And now, for the life of me, can’t get it back into home assistant.
So I’ve reset the device, and able to readd it to my network using the new app. However, after that, the app doesn’t detect the module. Nor can I get it into home assistant. Just showing as unavailable.
Also, probably unrelated, but the integration in HA is also saying version 1.0.0.
Can anyone help me get this working again please??
Did you fix your issue? I have the exact same problem. Has been working fine for the last year however cannot reconnect for the last few days, Have reset the module however cannot pair it. I am able to connect to the MyClimate wifi however cannot configure module through the app.
Weirdest thing… noticed some other devices not communicating properly with my router.
Changed the wifi channel and presto, all working again.
Can’t explain it otherwise.
Hey all!
Glad I found this board, bough a sensibo but found out it’s a no go… I wanted to check with everyone here, I was in the roof and saw this unplugged, I don’t suppose this is the wifi module?
If not I’ll buy one soon
I don’t have mine in front of me (… it’s in the roof!), but yes that looks like it, and plugging that cable into the machine is pretty important.
I can’t remember exactly what instructions I followed to do that, sorry. (Assume they either came with it, are in the Bonaire manual, or in this thread)
What a complex setup instructions haha. Any idea how I could find the interface kit ID?
