Bosch Solution 2000 / 3000 Alarm Integration

Yeah, only one connection at a time until the new solution 3000 firmware releases, when that goes out it allows more than one connection at a time, which does make RSC+ work simultaneously

This release is the one that will let you use both concurrently

Will this also allow for the solution unit to push state change?

Yeah, thats part of this update too

That’s great!

Thanks for sharing the new release from Bosch @sanjay900. Do we need to update firmware in both the network adapter and the alarm panel? I’m assuming yes.

Would be nice if you can provide guidance on how to do this? (Perhaps on the GitHub page for this add on?). Or even better - a ā€˜update’ button in the home assistant plugin that will (somehow?) allow home assistant to upload the firmwares on the local network.

Hi sorry if this is a stupid question, but does this setup allow me to get notifications on iOS if my alarm is triggered? Can I have a custom sound?

The Bosch RSC+ app is very limited.

Yes the state of the alarm entity can be used in an automation to do this.

alias: House Alarm Triggered
trigger:

  • platform: state
    entity_id:
    • alarm_control_panel.house_alarm
      to: triggered

Thank you for the guide!

I’m curious whether there is a way to upgrade the firmware without needing the DLA (Direct Link Adapter)? Personally I have the Solution3000 system, with the B426M module that I can connect to, and I have installed the A-Link Plus software which I’m able to use to connect to the panel and see panel settings. But firmware upgrade - is the DLA mandatory?

I’ve installed the integration and trying to connect via port 7700 and get the below error… any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

It’s the correct IP as I am able to connect to the web portal of the B426-M via it…

EDIT: All good got it working now after updating firmware to 3.13

Yeah so the DLA is mandatory because the panel doesn’t contain enough ram to store a new firmware update, so the DLA is used as a buffer while the panel is programmed.

Hi Sanjay ,

First of all , you have done a great job . I have installed this and it’s working as expected . Now I am planning to use the sensor to automate few light around my house .

I have upgrade the B426-M , however due to the DLA requirement I am waiting to upgrade the main BOSCH panel upgrade . With out upgrading both the multiple connection is not working.

Correct, you would have to get your hands on a dla to fix that, and unfortunately there’s not anything we can do to get around that.

We have at least finally gotten to the bottom of the integration being unstable with the old panel firmware though so you should at least be able to use the integration with the panel if nothing else is connected.

Does this work with B426 (non -M version)?
If so, does anyone have the latest firmware? I’m on 3.03 and does not connect. The Bosch website has release notes for 3.11, but doesn’t seem to have the firmware itself anymore. https://commerce.boschsecurity.com/no/en/B426-Conettix-Ethernet-Communication-Modules/p/28990879243/#bt-product-variants

Update 1: Found v3.15 and it updated, but the old password and Default I’ve seen (B42V2) aren’t working, hmmm.
https://commerce.boschsecurity.com/au/en/Ethernet-Communication-Module/p/F.01U.324.383/

Update 2: Factory resetting using the mode jumper and dial key fixed password back to default. Was able to login and can access web page. Back on normal settings, the Add-on is still not happy though: ā€œFailed to connectā€. I probably need to update the firmware of my Solution 3000. It’s on 1.0 or 1.1.

Update 3: Bought a DLA and upgraded Solution 3000 firmware from like 1.01 to 2.1.3 and working sweet as now!

HAs anyone tried updating the B426M to version 3.13 while still having the solution 3000 on firmware 2.0.0 ? The update document for 3.14 say minimum 2.0+ but then further down it says 2.1.3

Hi @ahmadyusuf ,

Apologies for replying on old post, but I am in the same boat. I followed all the steps above.
I can see the sensors in HA, but I cannot arm/disarm alarm from HA and also I cannot get the alarm status in HA.

Were you able to figure out the problem?

Thanks
hakim

Thanks @sanjay900 for the great integration add-on. I have a Solution 2000 and B426-M which have been working well.

I have a question which I know was mentioned previously, but not sure if it was answered? Is there any way to expose the Siren and Strobe entities to HA? I have my own RF remote activating a pair of relays which feeds into HA via RPi GPIOs to arm and disarm the alarm, sort-of like the Bosch WE800EV2KIT RF Kit. Except, there’s no visual or auditory feedback when arming or disarming, which has caught me out when I’ve tried to disarm whilst being beyond RF range  I’d love to be able to ā€œbeepā€ the Siren and flash the strobe a single or double instance via automations to get that feedback.

Any ideas?

I think i did answer this one, the panels don’t support interfacing with those over the API.

If you don’t need the siren and strobe to work normally you could configure them as remote outputs, and those are something you can control from within home assistant as we expose those as outputs.
