Can I change "Command Class Switch Multilevel" version for my HomeSeer dimmer?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I’m just starting to transition from Smartthings to HA.

I have a bunch of HomeSeer HS-WD100+ dimmers around the apartment. So far I’ve only moved one over to connect to HA directly so that I can work out the kinks. I addressed the the known issue with incorrect reporting status by changing the refresh value to true and instituting a delay, but now I’m having trouble getting the dimmer to work with the Transition command.

I found this thread, and I’m thinking my problem is that COMMAND_CLASS_SWITCH_MULTILEVEL needs to be v2 or higher, but my zwcfg_ file shows v1.

Is that value provided by the dimmer? Is it something I can change in the zwcfg_ file? Would trying to upgrade the firmware do anything?

To add on: this thread seems to cover similar ground, but there’s no discussion of whether it’s a value or feature that can be changed.
