I’m currently running HassOS on a Windows Laptop (i5-8265U, 16gb RAM) with the battery removed so as not to damage it with 24/7 use. Running the laptop without a battery triggers BD Prochot on my machine, throttling my CPU to a barely-usable 0.4GHz. I’m currently overriding this with throttlestop.
I’m considering wiping the device and installing HassOS instead, as I’m not finidng HassOS in VirtualBox (2 cores, 4gb RAM) to be particularly stable. Will it still be possible to override BD Prochot if I do so?
I’m assuming that something like this should be just as possible on HassOS as it is on any other linux build, but I know HassOS is a bare-minimum OS and want to make sure I’m right before I move everything over and discover I’m running in treacle mode.
Thanks!
(I can’t see why it would matter, but just in case anyone ends up asking: the other things running on the laptop outside the VM are Plex, -arr suite and qbittorrent (behind a VPN), dropbox, gdrive, tailscale, and a samba share)
