This fixed the issue for me. Couldnt reach HA, went to 4357 then 8123 and it worked! I’ve had HA setup for a while but been away for a week and I guess something went wrong during that time
I had the same problem, after updating the core and the host I could connect to 4357, but not to 8123 anymore. I tried everything… Then I typed the address with https://192.168.1.xxx:8123 in the browser (xxx is the last number of the IP address of course), I got the warning it wasn’t safe. When I connected anyway I was in the OS again! Now I just have to fix the https part…
FINALLY
The fix for me after hours and hours of attempting to resolve my vmware install of home assistant and being unable to get it to seemingly connect to internet (no ip for the vm).
I simply uninstalled vmware player 17 and downloaded an older version of vmware player (16.2.5) and followed the same steps mentioned countless places for how to setup the vm and boom it worked!
For anyone else having issue with vmware player 17 the below link should allow you to download the older vmware player 16.2.5.

For me this was happening while trying to connect via wifi. HA couldn’t connect upon startup (the external usb CONFIG drive method isn’t working?), but would connect with manual ‘nvmi device wifi connect’ command, however still wasn’t reachable.
Once I hard-connected the ethernet to the Pi the issue went away. Will work on the wifi issue…
Same issue… new installation on Intel NUC.
Using Generic x86-64 PC (UEFI).
Installed OS but it looks like HomeAssistant not loading correctly.
I have CLI access via keyboard/monitor setup.
Can access IP:4357 but not IP:8123
Done a portscan and nothing at the end of port 8123
Supervisor logs
Any suggestions ?
Try some other commands from the ha command line. Start with help.
I had the same problem. I went to the last stable release before the current one:
haos_rpi4-11.4.img.xz and this fixed the problem. Never go with the latest release of anything. 11.5 may be ok when the next release comes out and they have fixed whatever is causing the problem.
New to HA
had the same issue.
I’m using an RPi4, with the home assistant image on the SD card.
It might be obvious.
but the first time I tried to set up the HA the ethernet cable wasn’t connected.
I reflashed the HA image and powered the RPi with the cable already connected
I guess it can’t recover from setting up the first time with no network.
You can’t install hassos without a network connection.
It works bro
