I use CC2531 Zigbee2MQTT Firmware with Antenna for Home Assistant (from Amazon). I plugged it in to the Raspberry Pi and configured Home Assistant with Zigbee2mqtt. It works well however:

I read (possibly mis-read) somewhere recently, that I should disconnect it from the Raspberry Pi now and power it from a USB hub or similar. Is this correct?

USB3 interferes with 2.4GHz networks like Wifi or Zigbee. If your RPI has USB3 it is recommended to use an extension cable.

No need for an hub, if your power supply meets the official requirements.
