Compatible (smart) watches

Hi there,
I want to buy a sports watch or a smartwatch. I prefer a sports watch for battery life.
Is there a list of compatible HA watches somewhere or are there general watch selection criteria for HA?

Depends on what you mean, and what you want. The Apple Watch and WearOS have support from the iOS and Android apps.

There are also options for various fitness trackers, though that’s usually for reporting stats to HA.

I don’t use Apple devices, so i need to look for wearables with " Wear OS "?

What exactly did you mean by being compatible with HA?
I have a Garmin Venu 2 with 7 to 10 days of battery life and there is a Garmin Connect HACS integration which allows the metrics from the watch that is synced with Garmin Connect to be available in HA.

There is also a HASS Control app that can be loaded on the Garmin watches to view and control HA entities.

Just ordered the Xiaomi Redmi Watch 4 so will see how compatible and reliable it is with Hassio.

what did you find?

yep just wondering is redmi watches are compatible with HA or not

I have bought a Xiaomi Watch 2 (not pro) and it works great with HA, it is wearOS. Battery life of about 3 days.

I have the Xiaomi Watch 4 and it uses HyperOS which is not compatible from what I’ve gathered so far.

Hey there! I was thinking of buying a Redmi Watch 4 as well. Do you confirm that it is not compatible with anything Home Assistant at the moment? There’s obviously 2 main things I’d like to know whether they work or not:

  • Able to add some buttons (only a few, but some lights / climate toggles would be a great start)
  • Able to ideally send back health data to HA (I assume this could prove more complicated, but being able to have sensors for steps and heart rate in HA from the watch would be great).

I have a Amazfit Watch. I don´t use the factory ZEPP app but “Notify for Amazfit” app, which offers a Home Assistant integration, but didn´t yet play around with it. It´s supposed to have buttons to control simple things in HA.

I’ve been using an Amazfit watch too, and I totally get why you’re into the “Notify for Amazfit” app. It makes controlling things around the house so much easier. I tried it with my smart lights and loved how I could switch them on without getting up.

I also have a rolex sky dweller replica that I wear on special occasions. It’s nice to have something classy for those moments, but day-to-day, my Amazfit does the job with notifications and fitness tracking. It’s all about finding that balance, right? I haven’t fully explored all the features yet, but I’m looking forward to playing around with the Home Assistant integration too.
