But for Yale Home app users, the August integration will stop working very soon, and you’ll need to switch to the Yale integration which is only available in beta right now.
Yes it updates.
Hi @bdraco, I’ve recently added the yale unity entrance lock to my home, where I already have an existing August lock working with home assistant (with a combination of the August integration and the Yale Access Bluetooth integration). However when I try to add the yale unity lock, I am still being asked to input the key and slot number.
I tried adding the Yale integration (using the 3rd party authentication) in hopes that may communicate the key over, with no luck. I have also tried an iPhone backup for the key with no luck there either. I’ve also tried enabling auto unlock from both an iPhone and an Android device, tested them both as working, but can’t seem to add the new yale unity lock without being asked for the key and slot number. Any help is greatly appreciated, as I don’t know what else to do…
Hi, will the new Yale integration pull the key for the Yale access Bluetooth integration? Like the current August one does. This is critical for those of us who use Bluetooth via an adapter or esp32 proxy etc.
Thanks.
Currently the Yale integration does not provide the offline key. Only the August integration can obtain it right now.
While the integration supports handling the offline key, the yale API does not yet send it.
Is there any way to extract the Bluetooth offline keys from a working Home Assistant setup? I’ve tried looking into the config dir but I don’t seem to find them anywhere.
So a little background… I have a Yale Home setup in Europe (with Yale Linus locks) that was working fine until I had to force upgrade to the new Yale Home integration.
I have a “production” HA and a “beta” HA, each one of them with their own bluetooth dongles. On the “beta” one I made the mistake of deleting the devices from the Yale Access bluetooth integration, thinking that the new Yale Home integration would provide the offline keys on rediscovery, which I now know it doesn’t. But the “production” HA still has the offline keys presently working. How can I copy the keys from it to the “beta” one?
Yale released an API update today and the OfflineKey is now provided.
Please restart Home Assistant to ensure the key is updated.
I started seeing rate limited error when I reload account entity on the August integration, is this normal? And started not able to configure Yale Access Bluetooth like I used to do before.
bdraco seems fixed it, but now I am able to connect to Yale Assure Lock 2 through August + Yale access
Hi all! Thanks for posting in this thread. It’s really driving me away from trying this device over Bluetooth .
I was going to get the Z-Wave version and noticed the Bluetooth version has a fingerprint reader. I figured that would be problematic in Home Assistant, but I was curious how it’d work.
I have multiple Bluetooth proxies via some ESPHome devices nearby the front door, but it looks like the Bluetooth version is going to report unreliable information anyway.
Curious if anyone has screenshots of how you setup the fingerprint reader directly in Home Assistant and if this Bluetooth version worked for you. At this point, I’m thinking of going Z-Wave.
