I’m now trying to connect to my Solar Edge inverter. It seems that my inverter does not support the local API, so I’m trying to use the web based one. I’m trying to install the Integration by clicking the button on the page SolarEdge - Home Assistant. It then asks me to enter my API parameters. I have entered the SolarEdge site ID and the API key which I got from the SolarEdge site. I’m not quite sure what to put in the “name of this installation” box. There does not seem to be anything called “name of this installation” on the SE site, so I entered “22 Fox Green” which is what’s shown on the SE site in the box called “Choose a site (insert at least 3 letters to search):”. It then tells me “Could not connect to the solaredge API”.
What am I doing wrong here?
Thank you - Rowan
Some integrations like it if you restart home assistant after installation, so I would try that.
Otherwise I’m not familiar with the Solar Edge stuff specifically.
You may want to double check with your SolarEdge installer that your user account actually has API access. You’d think that seeing the API key would suggest that it did, but that’s not always the case. Being able to see the web interface isn’t sufficient.
Thank you for those useful suggestions. I have restarted HA. I have also asked my installer to make sure that my account is enabled for API access. Please can someone answer what should be written in the box called “the name of this installation”?
Thank you - Rowan
Just name it something like: “SolarEdge”.
