The blog is available on the main HA website - link is right at the top.

But I didn’t find anything there. I did find this though by a simple search of the forums and this may be what you are looking for. The example is an IR TV remote, but the same idea should apply.

Yeah, my fault. It was in the HA blog, but only as a mention. You had to click the link, which took you to his blog. I should have been more specific, but I hope it works out for you!
