Of course!

@CountParadox yes please do post a link for this (although im not clear on what you mean by firmware full rip- i still would love to look at it!).

@OverZealous has done some excellent work with his ssh integration (+ finding that you can add a ssh key to the crestron panels!).

for anyone new to this thread, do note that when the crestron panel goes into standby (whether automatically via its timer setting or through a direct command to send it to standby immediately), when it wakes up it will reload the web page (ie will be a slight delay while it reloads/refreshes the ha dashboard web page). Its actually not as big of an issue as it sounds, in practice, but its something to be aware of.

next on my to do list re; crestron panels;
1- extract/de-compress the firmware (filesystem + examine if anything is possible to modify / tweak or learn from looking at the linux os / crestron scripts running underneath the CLI) (maybe this is what CountParadox is referring to posting a link to?)

2- try adding a physical switch to switch on/off the power line, to the screens led’s backlight. so you can switch on/off the screen without it reloading (my hope is to work around the panel reload issue, for locations where you want the screen off/dark - and more so just for fun). will update

FTP removed by crestron :frowning:

(excuse the image, its to stop the url being crawled by bots)

Not from smartphone.
Chrome.

What FTP client are you using ?

I tried from Chrome browser. Android version.
Have nothing else with me rn.
Give me couple hours I’ll check from home with proper ftp client.

Just start session from my server remotely.
By now everything looks OK.
-Day after.-
Everything works fine :+1:

Can’t seem to keep a stable connection … I’m able to connect for a few minutes then get errors stating remote site connection failed. Tried from a few different machines/networks but same results

–update used filezilla instead of winscp…and looks like its doing better now, will update tomorrow

Use FTP client from Total Commander.
After hour or so server show error 501.
Restart after few minutes and no connection.
Restart after 10 minutes - connection OK.

thank you so much! very helpful! (yes your server works- im using filezilla client on windows 11)!

Hello! I got one TSW-1060, I was able to factory reset it, and use the EMS to point it out to my dashboard on HA, however when I try to SSH to the panel, my Web Console username and password are not accepted. What is supposed to be the username and password for the SSH connection? Tried also admin/admin, admin/crestron, crestron/admin. No luck.

Did you add a user via the Crestron web admin?

I’m not sure you can actually SSH into the panel without setting one up, because you can’t SSH without a password (as far as I could find).

I did configured one user they ask creation during the first access to the web page after factory reset. That user and password is not accepted for an SSH session.

That’s odd. Try admin as the user and whatever your first password was as the password.

My first (and only) user is still called admin, and before I added my key, it took the password.

Ok, did a new factory reset, and it works! So the user you create during the initial setup will be the one you get to use for SSH. I believe mine had some issue because I went from an older firmware to a newer one. Something on the SSH service was not updated with the user I’ve created, factorying resetting with the latest firmware worked fine. Thanks for your help and comments @OverZealous

You’re an absolute legend for hosting this. I’m slowly pulling down everything (I’m at ~91 GB so far). I wonder if it might be worth setting up a torrent or something, since it would relieve you from the burden of hosting almost 400 gigs of data. I’d happily seed that in perpetuity.

I may also investigate how compressible everything is. I’ve got some machines that have the RAM necessary to build up a reasonable zstd compression dictionary for this amount of data. I’m hoping that I might be able to squeeze everything down to ~60-70% of the original size.

It’s fine, it’s on my server in a datacenter. It’s around 1TB of data. The server has 0.25TB of ram

I came across a Crestron TSW 750 from Ebay. I was able to factory reset it. I am able to SSh into the device. I am unable to get to the GUI through my web browser. I am stuck on how to update the firmware. the panel is running Firmware Version 1.501.0013. Thank you for the Help.

Crestron has issued a DMCA notice, so I must take down the FTP within 24 hours. I will do this as soon as it is possible for me to do so within 24 hours.
Clearly crestron are snooping on this thread and butthurt we are saving their products from ewaste :grinning:

Unless someone with more legal background can confirm that this use case is not violating their copyright ?

It’s not like it’s paid software ?
