Beta version contains an configuration option called Square Map which is added to solve this issue, you should try it.

No, you cannot use this integration with a Valetudo installed device. Also map feature requires cloud connection in this integration.

I think it is not working correctly on beta, I will fix this on the next release.
You can use segment select entities to modify the custom cleaning settings for now or if you want to use multiple cleaning settings for different automations, suggest you to use onboard Shortcuts feature of the app which is designed for that.

Had to select low res map in order for it to work - with low res map disabled it consumes the CPU/MEM 100%
I am guessing you are trying to use this integration on a < 2GB Ram 32bit ARM device. If that was the case, integration does not consumes too many resources but your system does not actually have any.
Even HA installation guide does not recommend you to use an RPI2/RPI3 with less than 2GB ram.
Actually no, this was all stupidity on my end. Running it on an old Lenovo M710q tiny (2.7Ghz, 8GB RAM, 256 SDD), inside a VM.
The same machine is running my Milestone Xprotect VMS and I had too little resources assigned to HA.
I figured I just need to up the 8GB → 16GB and all will be fine
