Custom Component: HACS

I got mine to finally work by first updating to 18.0…and then 18.1.

How do you pick a different version?

Got it Thanks!

On the screen where you update there is a dropdown next to the version.

This worked for me as well. I was having the exact same problem.

Would love to see Stat Ping added to the repository. This goes for any or all of the add on suites available. It’s a wonderful tool!

What is stat ping?

Is HACS no longer support in Hassio?

2019-12-13 12:52:39 WARNING (MainThread) [homeassistant.loader] You are using a custom integration for hacs which has not been tested by Home Assistant. This component might cause stability problems, be sure to disable it if you do experience issues with Home Assistant.

I am having issues installing .103 and I am looking at all my custom components.
Thanks.

That warning is given for any custom component, and will have been present in 0.102.

And yes hassio and hacs are still compatible.

Sorry I forgot to link to it. Here it is.

Not a job for hacs. It does run in docker though, so just add it via docker.

How exactly are “addons” added to hacs then and who decides which ones are added to the “store”?

HACS addons are custom components for Home Assistant that people craft as they found the included ones not available for their specific case. They are written specifically for Home Assistant.

The author would need to create it as an addon. People can then add the repo and install it. There are a lot of custom repos. The devs would need to be approached to add any repo to the core store but that isn’t required to run it. It’s just like say esphome or Caddy etc. it’s also not a custom component for HACS integration.

Thanks for the tip @geeked! https://status.halfdecent.io/

You’re welcome. Wish I could figure out how to use this with docker on HA. I tried to run it and it wont start on port 8080. More reading to do I guess lol.

Hi Folks, I started my journey with HA today, and wanted to install HACS, I followed all steps from instruction, also checked several other similar issues but still I cannot see HACS under Integration (rebooted device, cleared cache).

Here is my directory structure : https://prnt.sc/qatkfm
Here is configurations.yaml : https://prnt.sc/qatmaj

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Paweł

Works for me in docker. But this is not the place as its unrelated to hacs. Why not start another thread and ping me in, we can discuss.

Not a priority right now. I’ll come back around to it later maybe next week. I’ll make a new topic as suggested. Thank you.
