Custom Components Folder in Virtual Box

Hi All,

I’m running HA in a VM on ubuntu.

I need to dump some files in the custom_components folder.

I’m struggling to create a guest session in the VM. (missing password)

Is there a way to access the folder via the File Editor Addon in HA?

custom_components folder is just in your config folder so should be accessible with samba add-on. I don’t use the file editor addon sorry

OK so if I install the samba addon. Then go through there.

Via the file editor there was no custom components folder.

I’m using Home Assistant 2021.2.2 on a Raspberry Pi 4B and Windows 10 19041.746 I’m attempting to install HACS which requires the creation of a folder custom_components. I have used Samba to give me access to the homeassistant folders on the Raspberry. My difficulty is that I cannot create a new folder at the appropriate level.
