Daikin AC Integration Status

Some time ago I bought a Daikin Alira X to replace an ancient and broken reverse cycle split system. I went with this model because I saw I could integrate into Home Assistant. Life was good.

A couple of things to note about the Daikin Alira X is that the model number is FTXM60WVMA and it uses the BRP084C44 WiFi controller.

Then…one day it stopped working! The reason being I updated the firmware of the unit and discovered this…

…uh oh.

Since then I have been regularly checking the integration page and keep seeing these words…

there is however ongoing work in fixing local API support again.

I’ve also tried doing all the tricks on that page and even tried some HACS components. Alas, nothing works.

So…I have two questions:

  1. Is there ongoing work on the integration to get it working again?
  2. In this difficult time, has anybody had the same situation and have they managed to solve it? How?

Thanks all!

Replace the wifi card in the Daikin with this: Need Daikin Wifi? Use the Open-Source Faikin ESP32 Hardware instead of the official wifi Modules

I have a fully supported local API model adaptor but I am still considering replacing it with one of these as the core integration is super slow to initialise.

Hey folks - I stumbled across a reasonably new community integration that can be used while we’re waiting for the HA team to update the official integration.

I set it up and it does exactly what I need!

That said, I’ve also purchased a Faikin controller so let’s see how that goes too.
