Daikin Airconditioning & WiFi module

Can anyone tell me how I can reset the WiFi settings on these things? I had A daiken FTXM46RVMZ Installed a couple of years ago with a wifi module which worked great until I changed ISPs and got a new router. I’ve tried asking the dealer I bought it off but now he’s got mymmoney he doesn’t seem to care.

Help please?

Not sure if this helps – the link is to the installation manual for the BRP072C42 Wireless adaptors – the installer said at the time it was very similar to the earlier version.

Once you reset the WLAN devices on the Daikins, you will see their SSIDs in the format shown in the document.

Remember they only operate on the 2.4 band.

You will need the SSID’s security key (applicable to that specific WLAN module). All of my keys are 13 numerics long.

Hi,

I want to add my A/C control to my HASS.

I have a BRP072A42 in a Daikin FTXM95PVMA/RXM95PVMA setup and I can’t see external temperature, fan speed or air flow direction control in the android app, I’m guessing that if it isn’t in the app, I won’t be able to it with HASS.

With the BRP072A42 installed in my FTXM25’s I can see external temperature, fan speed and air flow direction control in the app.

This limitation is in FTXM95 brochure:

The brochure lists Cora as missing these controls but I’m pretty sure the FTXM25 are also Cora…

Anyone have a FTXM95 that doesn’t have this limitation?

I’m secretly hoping that maybe replacing the BRP072A42 with a BRP072C42 in my FTXM95 night allow me to control the missing stuff, especially fan speed as the WiFi control just puts the fan speed at full power, it blows like crazy at that speed, controlling the A/C with automation will end up with me coming home to a cool house with paper all over the floor lol.

What a crappy limitation, honestly I would never have bought the FTXM95 if I had known. I would hate to have to use IR to control it in HASS.

Cheers
Richard

Hi Guys,
I’m trying to get this integration to work with my Daikin AC with wifi controller BRP069A41 and wondering if anyone can help.

As per the docs, I am entering the ip address and the key. The key is written on the wifi kit’s cover.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is the API key actually the one written on the wifi kit cover or is it something else?

My way: install daikin app on phone.
that “key” is only for wifi that daikin create when paring with app. NOT for HA

setup controller in app.
you have to connect inapp to ssid:daikin… and the set your (home?) wifi ssid/password.

when u see in app your daikin, give it a fixed ip on modem/router,
then add on HA, only the ip. (not the wifi key!)

wow, it really was that simple lol. I removed the key from the HA integration setup and it worked. Thanks for making me KISS (keep it simple stupid)!

Hi…I am hoping someone can help me. I just bought a Daikin SMARTO (FTKH) AC. It comes with built-in wifi controller. Unfortunately it is not the model that everyone is discussing here. The model is AWM61A01. I tried putting in the host only as well as host and api key. Both came back with “Unexpected error”. Is this model supported?

Thanks.

@fredrike @nzhook Saw your names from another thread and hope you are able to help out with my wifi module. I believed this is the latest module from Daikin. Thanks.

Short answer.

No, it is currently not supported. But google around and try to find the protocol specification and I’ll try to integrate it. The app looks similar to previous models.

@fredrike I will try my best to see if I can get anything from google or maybe even Daikin. Besides that, is there anything else on my end I can do to extract some information?

You could try to intercept the communication between the app and your ac. I’m not sure how to do that though, you have to Google. There is usually quite good information on the whirlpool forum.

Hi everyone, I just have installed a brand new Daikin Perfera unit (https://www.daikin.eu/en_us/press-releases/form-meets-function-in-the-new-perfera-air-conditioner.html), and I cannot connect it to HA.
It does not use the usual Wifi adapter, but it has a wifi board built-in, which is supported by the following new app from Daikin, called Residential Controller: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.daikineurope.online.controller&hl=it&gl=US
When I add the integration, it ends with “success”, but eventually creates a device called “Unnamed device”, containing only 2 non-functioning entities: the AC Inside Temperature sensor, and a climate.daikin_ac climate entity.
For the record, I also have another unit with the Wifi adapter, using the Daikin Controller app, that I was able to configure without any issues (it provides 6 entities, perfectly working).
Is there any chance the Perfera model will be supported in the future?
Is there any way I can help developing/debugging?
Thank you for letting me know, bye!

As a start you can try to find out if Daikin have a publicly available API for this new board.

Thank you for the quick answer!
So, it appears that it does have an API but it is not responding to the older commands, such as “common/basic_info”, “aircon/get_sensor_info” etc.
Now, if I try to access just the main URL of the device, the “older” (i.e., working with HA) replies with:

“control” means (i) the power, direct or indirect, to cause the

“Work” shall mean the work of authorship, whether in Source or
Object form, made available under the License, as indicated by a
copyright notice that is included in or attached to the work
(an example is provided in the Appendix below).

“Derivative Works” shall mean any work, whether in Source or Object
form, that is based on (or derived from) the Work and for which the
editorial revisions, annotations, elaborations, or other modifications
represent, as a whole, an original work of authorship. For the purposes
of this License, Derivative Works shall not include works that remain
separable from, or merely link (or bind by name) to the interfaces of,
the Work and Derivative Works thereof.

“Contribution” shall mean any work of authorship, including
the original version of the Work and any modifications or additions
to that Work or Derivative Works thereof, that is intentionally
submitted to Licensor for inclusion in the Work by the copyright owner
or by an individual or Legal Entity authorized to submit on behalf of
the copyright owner. For the purposes of this definition, “submitted”
means any form of electronic, verbal, or written communication sent
to the Licensor or its representatives, including but not limited to
communication on electronic mailing lists, source code control systems,

“Contributor” shall mean Licensor and any individual or Legal Entity

where such license applies only to those patent claims licensable
by such Contributor that are necessarily infringed by their
Contribution(s) alone or by combination of their Contribution(s)
with the Work to which such Contribution(s) was submitted. If You
institute patent litigation against any entity (including a
cross-claim or counterclaim in a lawsuit) alleging that the Work
or a Contribution incorporated within the Work constitutes direct
or contributory patent infringement, then any patent licenses
granted to You under this License for that Work shall terminate
as of the date such litigation is filed.

  3. Redistribution. You may reproduce and distribute copies of the

excluding those notices that do not pertain to any part of

notices within Derivative Works that You distribute, alongside
or as an addendum to the NOTICE text from the Work, provided

    as modifying the License.

You may add Your own copyright statement to Your modifications and
may provide additional or different license terms and conditions
for use, reproduction, or distribution of Your modifications, or
for any such Derivative Works as a whole, provided Your use,
reproduction, and distribution of the Work otherwise complies with
the conditions stated in this License.

  1. Submission of Contributions. Unless You explicitly state otherwise,

Now, how can we try to obtain the list of the callable API? I tried sniffing the traffic from the app to the device but with no luck.
Any suggestion? Shall we wait for Daikin or somebody to undisclose the APIs?
Thank you

If you cant find it by searching then you need to contact Daikin.

I tried to ask, let’s see if I can get an answer…

Is there any way the commands can be found by searching within the app files in the phone maybe? What do you think?

:man_shrugging:

Mmmm bad news here… I searched the files of the Controller app and I found the usual API commands (get_control_info , etc…) in a file called base.vdex , but found nothing similar in the same file within the Residential Controller app… and no reply from Daikin in the meantime. Any other suggestion? :worried:
