deCONZ - Official thread

Could you point me to a guide to how to do it?

Do I need to create a new DDF, or is it OK if I just edit the one that is loaded in deConz?

I have no idea, there probably is some reference material on deconz GitHub or the forum deCONZ Community

Hello all!

Here comes another release log on Phoscon forum for the HA deCONZ integration

This release brings with it a couple of bug fixes reported on the beta, thanks for running the beta!

Here are the changes coming with Home Assistant 2024.3.0

pydeconz v115

Cheers!

I asked earlier about the deconz dongle timezone setting, but never got any solving answers. Here is the question:

Raspberry Pi 4 4GB + SSD, HAOS + latest updates,
ConBee 2 dongle, version info from HA → deCONZ → Gateway: 2.17.01 / 01/07/2022,Firmware 26720700

Why is it that from advanced settings if I set the gateway Timezone, it does not stick, but resets itself after restart to ETC/UTC?

(after the question was originally posted, the gateway version is now 2.25.3, firmware is still the same)

This is how time & timezone looks like in Phoscon:

…and it is 2 hours off.

from HA terminal I get:

…which is correct

The problem still is, that if I set the timezone from Phoscon, it is reseted to Etc/UTC after power cycle. It does not stick.

I have to separate Raspberry systems with similar hardware (incl. Conbee II) and they both behave the same

What gives?

Probably a question better asked on deconz discord or forum

Hopefully some will have advice for me:

Dear all,
I have been using Deconz since few years and recently tried and installed HA on RaspberryPi5 run on an external SSD. I had to use a USB cable to avoid interferences between the SSD and ConBee II: everything works perfectly now!

I am having an issue on the restart: every time it’s asking to reauthenticate (going to phoscon app - gateway - advanced - Authenticate button, moving back to HA and clicking configure) and apparently everytime it’s changing its ID and hence a new authentication is required.

I have searched and didn’t find anything and I am really open to try to understand what’s the root cause but I am not sure if it is an issue of HA or of phoscon. Could you suggest the best approach to follow?

Thank you!

Hello all!

Here comes another release log on Phoscon forum for the HA deCONZ integration

Mostly this release is about tidying up and improve the integration code to make things more clear.

Here are the changes coming with Home Assistant 2024.4.0.

No new pydeconz release this time.

Cheers!

Vincent, did you ever get a solution to this problem? Just bought two of the version 70 model and can get the sockets to work seperately.

Hello everyone,

I’m brand new to home automation. I’ve recently installed Home Assistant OS on an RPi4 and am currently playing around with it a lot.
What surprises me now is that the deCONZ version is outdated, although I just installed Home Assistant a few days ago.
When I access deCONZ via the HomeAssistant web interface (I assume this is done internally via a VNC), the software shows me that v2.25.3 is installed.
If I go to the add-ons, it says “Current version: 6.23.0” and if I click on the change log, it says “6.23.0
Bump deCONZ to 2.25.3”.
According to Github, v2.27.2-beta and v2.26.3 are the latest versions. I have activated the automatic updates for the add-on. How can I now update my deCONZ in HomeAssistant?

I use a Raspberry 4 Model B with 8GB RAM and a ConBee II stick.

Home assistant uses its own silly version numbers for the addons. Totally confusing. And Dresden Elektronik that makes Deconz always forget to update the version in their software. Especially with betas. The 2.27.2 beta says 2.26.3 in the Phoscon web interface.

Mine says 2.27.2. in the deConz VNC Interface.

is there a way to trigger an update manually?

Updates can only be done manually. How to do it depends on your installation method.

I just installed HomeAssistant OS on an SD card (with the Raspberry Pi Imager) and then started the RPi4 with the SD card, opened the Home Assistant web interface and added deCONZ under Add-ons.
After the installation I activated the 4 points in the add-on (start on boot, watchdog, automatic updates, show in sidebar).

When you run deconz as a HA addon you are at the mercy of the HA devs to build a new docker build a d release it. It can take weeks or months. Especially if it is a beta version with known problems which is fair enough.

I personally run deconz on a debian machine separate from HA installed with apt. Then I decide when and if I upgrade.

so, can we update then manualy, if we use the HA Adon for now?
or will it role back if we plug in the stick after the Update

HA addons are managed by the Supervisor and you can only upgrade to a version that the maintainer of the Addon has decided to release. If you do not see a notification that an update is available then you cannot upgrade. The software you upgrade is not the firmware on the stick. To upgrade the stick you normally need to bring it to another computer and then back again.

I am a little bit confused :man_shrugging:
Viking do you run Home Assistant OS on a Raspberry Pi?
Or do you use different hardware?

I use a Home Assistant Blue with a Conbee II.
This morning I updated the stick manually using the instructions from the add-on. Unfortunately, only the firmware was updated. The gateway version remained the same.
At least I was able to fix a bug that I had for some time, which meant I couldn’t add IKEA buttons.
I would be happy if we could also update the gateway without Frenck having to adapt the add-on.
