deCONZ - Official thread

Yes, exactly.

Slightly longer version.

Crete a backup of the Deconz config in the Phoscon app which you download.

And once the new image is up on the Pi with the same Conbee stick moved over, you upload the stored backup in the Phoscon app. Then you have a new Deconz with all the devices paired with the same device IDs and names.

From HA you need to remove the Deconz integration and add a new. But if you are good and make backups, you may be able to simply hack the .storage/core.config_entries file and change the IP address and port number to the new deconz and restart HA. I think that should work. Otherwise remove and add the integration. If you do the latter then it is a good idea to check that the device names in Phoscon and the names in HA are in sync. If not rename them in the old Phoscon before you create the backup. Then there is less renaming to do with all the entities and automations after the move

Moving from addon to another way of running deconz you should change the field value “addon” to “user” then discovery will work

This might already be in this thread, but I could not find it.
Do I NEED deconz in home assistant? can’t I just add
devices using the zigbee coordinator → add devices via this device?

You need either deconz, zha, or zigbee2mqtt to manage the coordinator and communicate to home-assistant.

But I can also just add my hue lights using:

without using any additional addons, using the ‘add devices via this device’ link

That is using the ZHA integration. This threat is about deCONZ integration.

Alright, thanks, I’ll look over there as well, I was just wondering, what extra functionality I would be missing, by not using deCONZ

For me personally the biggest advantage is that deCONZ can be used as a stand alone solution which means if Home Assistant fails my lights still work.

Thanks, i’ll look into this, ill spin up a deconz container, and check it out,

Hello, I’ve recently bought 2 IKEA Tradfri switches (ON/OFF and shortcut button), but I can’t manage to pair them with my HA.

I’ve installed deCONZ integration (v6.10.0) and deCONZ addon (6.10.0).
I’m using a Phoscon Conbee II usb key (version 2.12.06, firmware 26580700).

When I open the deCONZ Phoscon web app, I click on “Switches” → “Add new switch” → Other (in the IKEA submenu I don’t see my switches) and it starts searching for new devices.

I press 4 times the pairing button, the red light starts blinking, but the devices are not appearing anywhere on my Home Assistant.

Do you see them in Phoscon?

Nope. I tried using “Other” as device or IKEA Dimmer as suggested by a guy, because none of my 2 switches are present in Phoscon as, let’s say, compatible devices.

Well, they are a pain to pair for some reason but after a while I managed to get them paired by using “other”. Can’t give any usefull tips.

I have a completely other experience by using the pairing function in the Phoscon app. Did you try that?

@pedolsky
You mean the web app that you can access using the deCONZ add-on web UI? Yes, I tried from there.

@pedolsky @sjee
At the end I managed to pair the Shortcut Button by using a USB extension cable and selecting “Other” as switch in the Phoscon app.
I still cannot get the “ON/OFF” switch to get paired. I tried “Other” and both of the IKEA types, but nothing

Maybe a bug, there’s a recent discussion on Github.

Which Github repo?
