@Robban , you remember my state issue, that deconz was not sending states anymore to HA or HA doesnt get new states from deconz, well issue is back when i upgraded to 100.1
it was gone in 99.1-3 i believe
any idea? how can i troubleshoot this? my workaround is now then i need to create an automation to restart HA 3 times a day
created a issue here, not on deconz github, cause i think is HA related , and not addon/deconz
I have a ConBee and several xiaomi sensor (temp. and water).
I can add them just fine to deCONZ, but there’s no mesh. All sensors are connected directly to the controller.
When I move away from the controller with one of the sensors, it loses contact with it.
I have checked my channels: deConz is at channel 20, I have a Philips Hue box at channel 25.
My WiFis (2 of them at 2.4GHz) are in channel 1 and 6.
What could be wrong?
OK. So I’ll have to move some of my Philips lights from the Hue to the ConBee to get a working mesh… I was trying to postpone moving away from the Hue until I had the new mesh up-and-running.
I have a combination of mains-powered Ikea devices and battery-powered Xiaomi sensors in my deCONZ mesh, but I’ve never seen a Xiaomi sensor mesh with the Ikea lights, even though the light is closer to the sensor than the ConBee.
More silly questions froma zigbee beginner:
Do I have to position the new, battery powered devices, in their permanent location when I add them, or can they reestablish their position in the mesh if I move them later?
And, in case it repositions itself, how long does that take?
well, i have 3 floors in my house, conbee is on the 2th floor, all my sensors are mainly on 1th floor, and 1 xiaomi sensor on groundfloor
i have only end devices like ikea switches and xiaomi , and 2 ikea switches , mainly used for router on each floor
for the ikea sensors, thats easy, when you pair them, they search for router nearby , they even switch to a different router if its better
for the xiaomi, well, they are known that once they are connected to an router/gateway, they dont switch anymore… but its also very hard to pair them with an other router …, even if the router is like 10 cm away
i was struggling with this too, i was not able to pair an xiaomi with a router… i succeeded once after 20 tries, as you can see in my mesh below …
i eventually moved my conbee more central because of this
I went completely the other way. I have sited my conbee in the most remote part of the house (in the loft of a 4 storey building). I have various bulbs and switches (philips, ikea, innr) on each floor to build a robust mesh and the sensors, a combination of xaiomi, ikea and trust with the majority being xaiomi. This stops the sensors pairing with the conbee which is restricted in how many devices can connect to it.
Mostly, this works well. Once every three months or so, one or more sensors will stop communicating. In most cases a quick prod of the reset fixes it, but in the extremes I have to re-pair.
Ok, but I can’t pair with conbee, verry strange… If I do the same process again nearby conbee, no issue at all…
Maybe it’s the combination with xiaomi pir and Ikea smart plug
I have moved 10 of my lamps from the Hue Bridge to ConBee.
The lamps (both Philips and Ikea) were, at times, requiring a lot of patience for pairing. But now they’re in, the 10 lamps, 6 xiaomi temp/humidity sensors and 2 xiaomi water sensors.
My house is quite large, but it’s well covered with mains powered lamps, and the mesh is working very well. The ConBee is placed under the ceiling in the basement, in the center of the house.
Every device, including the xiaomi sensors, reattaches itselves to a new mains powered device when moved. However, this may take several minutes, so a little patience is required. The connection seems strange to me sometimes because the sensors don’t always attach themselves to what I see as the nearest amp, but that’s ok with me. One sensor is attached to a light 9 meters away instead of the ones 2 or 5 or 7 meters away. Some of this may be explained by my 35 cm thick, solid wood walls, but not all.
Now I’ll just wait a few days to see if everything is stable before adding the rest of my lights and sensors, and disconnecting the hue bridge. (This is just because I tried the same thing a year ago causing poor stability and a very low WAF.)
That was a bit troublesome for some devices.
First, and best way, is to delete them with the Hue app. Works most of the time.
But after that was done, I couldn’t always get them into the ConBee. Then I had to reset them.
For the Hue lamps, I used a philips hue dimmer switch that came with one my lamps.
Hold it close to the lamp to reset, and press both on and off for 10 seconds. That caused a reset, and adding to the ConBee worked fine.
Ikea lights were reset by switching on/off 6 times.
I have found that I need to start the light-pairing process in phoscon, and press the pair button briefly on the Xiaomi sensor, to get previously-paired xiaomi devices to mesh to a router (rather than the conbee).
But once they have found their new router they are very reliable. I have mostly hue and Tradfri bulbs, and xiaomi motion and temperature sensors, working well together in deconz.
Interesting! Is any additional configuration such as changing sensor names necessary after the re-paring, or does deCONZ remember the previous settings?
