At the beginning of the year Drayton were talking about making improvements to OpenTherm this year, so maybe this is that, although I would have expected a firmware update too.
Do you currently have OpenTherm enabled? I also have the 3ch HubR but enabling OpenTherm meant my hot water never got upto temperature.
I dont see how OpenTherm would ever work with our system unless Wiser released a cylinder stat that would communicate with the HubR.
I think I agree.
From what Ive read of ASHP yes, ASHPs assume they are dribbling out little amounts of heat over a long period of time, you would then want it on consistently for longer time across the house and Im not convinced wiser would add much over a boring old nest thermostat.
Yes I have enabled Opentherm, as i planned to use ch1 for upstairs, ch2 downstairs heating circuits.
When I added devices to ch2 then itâs relay not switch on circuit valve.
So then instead going back to traditional on/off mode, i ended up on only use ch1 to control on booth of my heating circuits. Devices (13) only added to ch1, and this ch1 out control nbooth relays to open circuit valves.
Water heating (ch3) only controls a relay to boost indirect hot water storage with electric heating, on this storage i adjusted max temp to 65C. (this boost active in the evening for 1 hour). On the gas boiler I set temp to 40C. This way I spared some gas (about half in winter, almost in summer), as i have some solar energy to use.
Just had it confirmed from Wiser that the opentherm compatibility upgrade is only for the 2nd gen hub
Interesting, how do you tell which gen HubR you have?
EDIT: Ah, looks totally different.
I donât think this version has been released in the UK.
I think that only the wiser hubs 2nd generation will be improved now.
Here is a link to have all the wiser offer ( sorry it comes from France)
https://www.productinfo.schneider-electric.com/wiser_home/wiser-home-sug-france/English/SUG%20Wiser%20Home%20F%20(bookmap)_0000804358.xml/$/SUG_WH_HubRGen2_Troubleshooting_Int-CFE398CF
Not available in the UK so that tells me that Schneider/Drayton arenât interested in UK anymore. Look at all the so called enhancements and additional device support added over the past year none of which are available in the UK
This was their full response to my question which was if and when 1st Gen 3ch channels hubs would get opentherm and if not, how could we upgrade to 2nd Geb Hub.
"We are working hard to update our products, and we will continue to work with OpenTherm to regain our official compatibility, but at this present time, we are unable to provide you with a confirmed date.
Regarding the 2nd Generation Hub, this is not currently available on the UK market but we hope to have this available soon; after this becomes available we should be able to offer more information as to how existing customers would go about upgrading."
They also told me 4 years ago they were looking to improve geo-fencing for multi occupancy households which still hasnt happened so I wont be holding my breath
Strange, because this looks like for 1âst gen HubR:
OpenTherm compatibility (for HubR only)
Their Gen 2 HubR still not available in 2ch (CCTFR6312G2) and 3ch (CCTFR6313G2) version, only 1ch (CCTFR6311G2).
https://www.se.com/in/en/download/document/CCTFR63xxG2_HW/
And wonât be in my country. Like their app limited to certain countries.
If they wonât restrict sideloading their app, i will use only from Home Assistant:
https://www.androidauthority.com/play-integrity-sideloading-detection-3480639/
Anyway, if they continue like this - release products only in crertain country (their prod portfolio is a complete mess too), lame opentherm compatibility, issues with wifi and zigbee, geofencing only with 3rd party app, useless technical support - and almost every year one smart radiator thermostat die suddenlyâŠbecause of humidity.
Has anyone actually tested to see if it works on UK spec, 2 channel, gen1 HubR regardless? For the sake of stringing a cable temporarily between my HubR and boiler (Ideal Vogue Max system) Iâm tempted to check whether they can talk Opentherm to each other. I need to install an external temperature probe to the boiler anyway.
In more positive news; the constant wifi disconnects I (and plenty of others) used to see from the hubR seem to have been cured. I assume this is through a firmware update on the Wiser side rather than any specific change in my wifi network.
An app update isnt going to fix Opentherm, this will need an update on the hubr. As far as i am aware there hasnt been a hubr update for the UK however that doesnt mean there hasnt been one as Schnieder are terrible at announcing these things.
You can monitor for firmware changes with HA by creating a template sensor based on the firmware attribute of the Heat Hubâs Signal sensor.
{{ state_attr('sensor.wiser_heathub_signal','firmware') }}
This doesnât tell you when Schneider have released new firmware, but it can tell you when your hub has had a firmware change.
Yes I wired my opentherm module to the boiler and whilst it appeared to work, my hot water tank never got upto temperature due to opentherm keeping the boiler flow temp at max 50-55d.
Having done a bit of research, I believe the only way for opentherm to work with hot water cylinders is to either get a boiler that supports hot water priority (I think Vaillant do one) or replumb the system.
The only other way I could see it working is if wiser released their own cylinder thermostat that could communicate with the hub but I highly doubt that will happen.
This video explains it a bit
Hi
It is a pleasure to see there is an integration for Wiser !!! I am looking for that since a long time
I start HA and i have installed your product but i canât connect to second gene hub
I have the IP adress, thePWD ( on the box) is something wrong with default port 80 ??
Or the secret key is not the PWD written on the box ??
Best
Hi,
The secret key is unlikely what is written on the box. You have to follow the instructions to put it in setup mode and use your phone/tablet to connect to the hubs wifi AP and get the veey long secret code there.
See this link under Initial Configuration.
You can find the secret key via this link
The details are at the end of the article.
GREAT !!!
Thankâs I can now see !!
In french easier for me
je vous remercie et je remercie le developpeur qui a fait ce travail, je déseperait de pouvoir integrer wiser dans HA
I am looking for a help doc i didânt see
for exemple i have add 2 new valves with wiser home , but these doesânt appear in the HACS wiser integration
best
I found the apparatus are in the desktop
but
new question. something look wrong in the panel
the config file is good how can i set the correct name in the panel i didânt find how to indentify then
