Yeah, I was wondering if I should somehow alter the command depending on the type of the device to be paired, considering that in the app you choose the type from the list. I only have TRVs and a roomstat. Great that this will become a standard feature of the integration. Thanks again!
Just been looking at my demand and heating following the OT discussion and it does look like it is regulating to an extent after its initial 100% boost so maybe not all bad.
Hi,
I have a conventional boiler with unvented cylinder. I am trying to understand the charts below. I have encircled the entities/legend which do not make sense to me. What does each mean? why they are not synchronised?
‘Wiser Heating’ matches with the boiler and seems true ie when boiler is off the it shows off and vice versa. However the legend in the chart below ‘Wiser Central Heating heating’ does not match with ‘Wiser Heating’. Can someone explain the latter and link between the two? Thanks in advance
The circle/filled in bars are where it’s demanding heat I believe. Could be wrong.
It’s interesting seeing others settings. Do you only heat to 16C in the evening?
Also looks like it took an hour just to raise 0.5C .
Here’s mine, I assume the bars get thinner as there’s less demand ( I have modulating combi with open them)
Hi everyone,
Yesterday I have connect a new switch wifi behind my box. Since then, I can no longer connect Wiser to HA. Wiser is nevertheless well connected to the internet.
Then I tried to reinitialised the integration.
Now, when I put the IP adress, the port n° and the secret key, here is the result:
“Timed out connection. check the IP address and try again”.
Could you help me ?
I’m not sure what you mean by that, can you elaborate?
Can you see the Wiser HubR IP address in your router config page?
So I’ve pushed the button and purchased a Thermostat 2 kit in the BF sales.
My boiler (Ideal Logic Max System S) supports OpenTherm but apparently DW doesn’t for Thermostat 2 / Conventional boilers, Is this still true? Has anyone found a workaround?
If you have an OpenTherm boiler then my advice is to buy a controller that also supports OpenTherm. Wiser only supports OpenTherm with combi boilers for some reason and its been like this for years!
Thanks for your answer.
I have made a mistake. I mean i installed a wifi switch between between my internet box and the wiser hub.
I see the wiser’s hub ip adress in my router config page.
What do you mean by wifi switch? Is it a wifi extender/mesh or a wired ethernet switch?
Either way it sounds like a networking issue which would probably have to be resolved by looking at the configuration of the device. Try connecting the other side with you phone or laptop and see if you can access HA (just as the DW hub is doing). Once you have resolved the issue for your phone/laptop connectivity DW should work too.
I assume by wifi switch you mean a wifi extender.
If that is the case in my experience, some plug in wifi extenders mask the MAC address of the client (wiser hub in this case) and change it.
If this is true then your wiser hub will have been given a different IP Address by your dhcp server (probably your router).
The fact you say you can see the hub in the router config is probably an old address. If you have made the original IP Address permanent in you router config then it will still show it. However I bet you have another one assigned by the router because of the new/masked MAC address.
Look in your routers DHCP table for the new address. when found you can make it permanent and use it in the HA wiser config.
Prior to all that, can you ping the hub on the IP you think it should be? If not then my assumptions above are likely to be correct.
Yes 16 degrees, i leave my thermostat in the living room which is large and takes longer to heat. My office and bedrooms become really hot (20+ degree) even when living room is set to16. I do have aqara sensors in every room, have not got around writing automations and scripts.
Yes it took longer just raise 0.5C since it had reached near the target temperature and had already started regulating so the temperature does not overshoot.
you are correct the 2 channel will do as uhf adds additional
@msp1974 - Mark Thanks for the Water Climate, until now I have been using my own ESPhome climate to do that.
I think that I misunderstand how it works, I have read the docs and thought I did.
This is my config:
It is set to Manual
This is in the off-state
When I press the Heat Button I get this:
The actual temperature read from the sensor is correct.
If I select the 3 dots, and then select Mode > Heat, a few seconds later it will jump back to off.
So I don’t appear to be able to set the target temperature or set it to on.
I have obviously misunderstood how it should work.
I have been spending quite a lot of time recently, rewriting this as i think there were a few logic flaws in it.
So next release will have a new version that has min and max target temps, will retain these between restarts and supports boost properly.
If anyone wants to test it on the dev branch, that would be great!
Hi , this is an awesome intergration.
I have one question, I have 2 hubs (adjoining annex ahs a sperate system)
I have intergrated on WiserHeatxxxbX and see all. It shows a separate entry for a second wiser WiserHeatxxxA4 but i am not sure if installing the second one would create any clash with the first.
If I can use both then that would be super!
Could someone please let me know if two would work or if thereis anything to look out for?
many thanks!!
Multiple hubs should work fine.
EDIT: just to add, when you do have multiple hubs, you will need to select which hub in the zigbee and schedule cards. This option appears in the card config when it detects more than 1 hub. But you can have multiple cards and select which hub for each one.
Thanks, Mark yes I am willing to test it.
I have reverted to the Esphome Bang-Bang for the time being.
But switching between them is pretty easy.
Another thing that would be useful in the schedule card would be to be able to hide the header card.
I am trying to fit everything onto a 480x480 ns panel and tried using card_mod to remove the header car which takes up about 20 - 25% of my available space.
Both myself and ChatGPT have run out of ideas.
I have tried hiding the header with display: none
- I can do that in Chrome Dev Tools but cannot get it to work using card mod.
A switch in the car to hide this would be useful, unfortunately though the EDIT
etc buttons at the footer are also stopping it from fitting on the page, would be good if an option to hide those, or even a seperate card for the control buttons, where I could possibly overlay it on top of the schedule in order to save that valuable space.
So, set the title to a single space and other settings as below. Will give you this.
EDIT: You wouldnt be able to edit a schedule on such a small screen and the edit function buttons/sliders etc would never fit (or if they did, it would end up being like the Wiser app, editing a single day at a time)
