Ecowitt weather station integration 'no devices or entities'

EDIT: I fixed it. I have data! I finally did it using the WSView Plus app - which (unlike WSView) did have my console listed. After I figured out a few things I managed to load my device, then added it to the Customised upload thing. I restarted HA and now the Ecowitt app had 1 device listed … with all my data showing. This has taken days.

Hi all. I’m new to HA (on a Home Assistant Green) but have my many Hue lights and Tado valves and Ring cameras set up. What’s bugging me is pulling in data from my Ecowitt (clone) weather station. This earlier thread is similar but goes off at tangents I don’t quite understand, hence the new post as per the FAQs.

Using the core Ecowitt integration instructions from Add entry, in the Ecowitt app I have gone through menu, Others, DIY Upload Servers, Customised, and filled in the details, hit Save. At this point nothing happens. The bottom of the screen has a button saying Disabled. ??? Anyway back, back, and Save again. A popup says “Success”. Back in HA I restart, and in the Ecowitt integration there is … the new entry reporting “No devices or entities”.
I have done all this multiple times. I have restarted everything. I have restarted the weather station gateway (console). Nothing. Any ideas please…?

FYI, for anyone else landing here with this issue, I found it takes a while for the sensor entities to come in. I was looking for them immediately and not finding them so thought it wasn’t working so reconfigured. Setting the data send rate at 1 minute means you have to wait a while for the data to come. Be patient if you think you have configured everything correctly. I came back to it after a couple of hours of frustration and the entities were all there.
