Electrical wiring - controlling wall sockets

Hello,
I want to redo the electrical wiring in my flat. If I want to control each 230V socket individually, does that mean I would need a separate cable run from the main distribution board to each socket?

Thanks

No, you can place smart relay to each socket.
Stay with certified devices like Shelly.

@karosm
thanks, something like i mentioned here?

So in general its better to place into the socket such a device instead of run separate wire/per socket, correct?

thx

Holy s…t how much Wave costs…
I meant the Shelly 1PM Gen4 that costs half of that.

Not better, but definitely easier/cheaper and thereon the more common way.
Running separate lines for every socket has advantages, you can have 16A load in every socket without tripping the circuit breakers.

Looks like you are not an electrician. I highly recommend you hire certify electrician to perform outlets modification

i cant get it for 23 euro.

i provided link to 1pm gen4, what costs half of that?

i need to know what can be used/ how … wont be do that physicaly.

got your point.
So based on what to design load/ how many separate lines per socket etc etc?

In such a case … if you have lets say 3x230V sockets on one line to CB ; there is no point to use 16A shelly, … 8A per socket might be fine - under assumption no 16A device will be connected to one socket… but if u have 3 device each lets say 3-4A … in total 3x4=12A → on 16A CB.

Thanks

Or use something like that

[ THIRDREALITY Smart Plug 4 Pack, 15A Smart Outlet with Timer Function, Zigbee Repeater, ETL Certified, Requires ZigBee Hub, No Power Meter - Amazon.com

You linked Wave.

You can’t assume anything. You have 16A CB and all the wiring and components down to socket have to be rated for that.

@Zenia using simillar but want to have clean design.

you mean zigbee/? got lost.

most of the CB are 6,10,16A … so got lost why they do 8A, 16A … .also devices linged by @zenia these are mostly 10/12/16A and i assume users have no clue on what CB is specific outleet where they plug it.

thanks

Hell no :see_no_evil:

Hell yea! :man_dancing:

So have a look what you linked… It’s z-wave version.

And likely all for the sockets are 16A. No electrician is going to wire you 6A sockets…

@Karosm
i am confused
this is 8A and they installed it into the wall socket?

There are several 1PM’s with different specs on the site.

ā€œTheyā€ should not.

@Karosm other problem is
if u have CB 10A and control wall socket with 16A shelly … also nonsense?

Zigbee , WIFI or what ever you prefer. I mean one which you can plug in to the outlet without intervened

You shouldn’t have 10A CB / wiring for wall sockets in the first place.
And if you had (some countries used to have 10A sockets), 16A shelly would still be better than 10A one.
Let make this simple, wall sockets >> everything 16A.

Breaker is your protection devices. Smart plug just a controlling device, which shouldn’t be less than you PROTECTION device. In US minimum residential breaker size is 15Amp.

what is meant by: ?
wall sockets >> everything 16A

As written before… it means wall sockets from this decade are typically rated minimum 16A. :warning:
