Energy Consumption: Assign Individual Devices to Source

The Energy dashboard already works great, but I would love to have the ability not just to add individual devices but also to assign them to their “parent” sensor. For example, I have a sensor that tracks the consumption of the entire house (like a Shelly 120/400A sensor), and I also have sensors in some rooms that track the consumption of the room only. Up to this point, it works well. However, if I have, for example, smart outlets that can measure energy usage, it would be great if I could assign the room sensor to the main sensor, and the outlet(s) to the room sensor.

This would allow me to display all devices and untracked consumption or to see just the room’s consumption alongside the devices in that room. It would also enable comparisons between rooms and other consumption insights.

One of my examples:

→ Sensor for the whole house (Shelly Pro 3EM 120A)
—> Room sensor (Shelly Plus PM Mini)
-----> Outlet sensor (Nous A1Z) for a 3D printer
-----> Outlet sensor (Nous A1Z) for my dehumidifier (which has high consumption, around 800W and more, so I want to track it separately just like the printer).

Yes, seconded. Starting to look into this, and already have several individual outlet power monitoring plugs. But I also want to get something like The Emporia Vue 3, which monitors whole house, and individual circuits simultaneously. Ideally, I’d layer this with device-level monitoring, but the energy dashboard only supports a single layer of nesting (whole house or circuit or device level) rather than a two-tiered setup (house > room > device).

That would be a great feature. It will also help find out where the untracked consumption are coming from. if each sub-level have it’s own “Untracked Consumption” after subtracting the assigned outlets, it will give more detailed view of the house.
