Energy Dashboard: adding new devices for energy consumption tracking automatically

Hi,

like discussed here also, I wish I would not have to manually add devices to energy dashboard if they support energy consumption tracking.

I´d rather like to have an option to tick that sais “automatically list / track all supporting device´s consumption” supplemented by a blacklist for ones, I wish not to be tracked (e.g. because they are misleading or part of the energy setup, like inverters, home battery or devices that are not linked to the home energy cirquit).

Rationale: There are many devices added, removed, renamed, moved to stock and back to work (renamed) elsewhere, etc., especially the zigbee plugs for example. Always I´d have to remember to untick those when removing or to (re-)add on the energy dashboard settings when bringing online to the system, else they´d either be vanished/orphaned or not tracked.

How do you think about it?

Hello Jochen

Hi @Sir_Goodenough ,
thank you for the hint, but I don´t think this is a frontend only feature request, I think it´s going beyond. I even want to avoid using frontend, HA should populate the tracked devices automatically and not by me modifying the dashboard. So, the core function is not frontend related. The frontend offers easy access to all supported devices already (it shows the ones only by default which have the right measurement unit), but still I have to add. Instead I wish I would only have to blacklist the ones I do NOT want to track.
