Energy moving dots not displaying

i had moving dots displaying to show where energy flows but they are not there nymore after installing power energy plus and energy plus integrations in HACS. How can i correct this? i have checked the used entities in the energy page but they seem ok.

  1. Do you mean “some digits after a floating point”?
  2. Do you mean that you installed a custom card to show an energy flow and it does not show digits after a floating point?

i mean the moving dots from grid to house and from solar to grid or house.
Just reset the energy dashboard with renaming the energy file in the storage folder. restarted HA but still no moving dots.
Also removed energy card plus from HACS, does not make a change for the dots, they do not display anymore.
By the way, the moving dots are also not displayed in the Power flow plus card which i have installed yesterday, in that card there is a option beneath advanced to display or hide the dots, but does not change anything

I see what you meant by “moving dots”)))
To clarify: you can see “moving dots” on a standard Energy view, but cannot in a custom card, right? Asking just to localize the problem.

the moving dots are also not displayed in the official energy dashboard within energy-distribution.
i am thinking about restore a backup, i only have 3 backups to a day before yesterday however i do not know of the problem was then already. Are there other solutions maybe?

Are power data entities changing?

I have the same cards as you do, with moving dots. But as indicated above they only move if the sensors change. If they do change, have you tried clearing the browser cache? Restoring a backup is a rather heavy measure for what might be a simple problem.

yes, everything is increasing status.
The values in the distribution card are correct

Could you clarify this statement? Earlier you said that no “moving dots” on a standard Energy view as well. Still trying to localize…

i mean: the moving dots are not displayed but the values on the distribution card are correct. That are 2 different things: 1 is the moving dots moving from solar to grid and from grid to house etc. 2 is the energy distributed values: used from grid and used from solar.

just refreshed cache, no luck for the moving dots

Any messages in Log?
Which HA version?

it looks like something is corrupt, broken, so maybe it is possible to restore a energy file from the backup and place that file in the config/storage folder replacing the one that is now present?

I do not think users are supposed to do it…

just loaded HA in another browser and then the moving dots are there!
it is a browser issue, although i cleared the cache it displayed a error in the logging so tried another browser now its working!
thanks for the help, hours work (on something that was a sideaffect off what i tried to achieve) and still not achieved what i want, but i do not give up. The goal is to see what i distributed today from the grid and from my envoy panels and the total energy used from grid and panels together. total distribution is known, what i deliver back to the grid is knwn but what i cannot display is what we are directly using from our panels.
That is another issue for another question problaby.

It will help others if you state the browser and version.

i do not think many people use this browser but it is Vivaldi 7.1 version, it is based on chrome, it uses the same extensions.

they are not there nymore after installing power energy plus and energy plus integrations in HACS.

Can you remove these? If it broke when you installed them, likely removing them may fix it.

Or try safe mode.

I’ve seen a lot of collateral damage from these energy “plus” cards, they have a habit of breaking core functionality…

Are these Frontend cards? Can they change system files?

Some of them are frontend cards yes. But in general any frontend resource you install has full permission to do anything that normal frontend can do, or trample on data of other parts of the frontend.

It’s not sandboxed into it’s little “card” sandbox, and even if you don’t actively use the card on a dashboard, just having the resource installed from HACS allow it to run arbitrary code in the global frontend scope.

Just as an example, the “energy-period-selector-plus” card has for years caused all stock frontend energy cards to stop working on manually edited dashboards, even if you don’t create any card with it.
