same issue @Gaukert with my Brel. Did you ever get it working?
UPDATE: I changed my antenna AND moved the ESPSomfy within 25 feet with clear line of sight. When I unmount and remount the wind sensor it transmits several “no wind” codes which I can see on the Radio Log screen; however, this is not getting forwarded to Home Assistant. Also, when I shake the awning until it trigger the awning to close, the Radio Log screen does not pick up anything. I’m lost here. Do I have a defective wind sensor? Why does it work with the awning but not with ESPSomfy consistantly?
No idea, but interesting to hear. I just got my Awning and decided to go with an Ambient weather station via MQ to HA to handle my retractions. Sounds like maybe ESPSomfy is inverted triggering No wind when actual wind? Either way I think I’d rather have the overpriced wind sensor in case something goes wrong/down and my awning is out. I’ve had some instances where HA becomes un-aware that it’s deployed so it would never retract.I will say this seems to be a sync issue with the remote. From 12ft away I get about 80dB from the remote no matter how much a tune it. 100% of time time ESPSomfy reaches the motor no matter where I place it. I guess my option is to only use HA to trigger it or make sure the remote is always needs the Transceiver.
@catboxer My remote also sucks, at least with ESPSomfy. I have to be about 15 away and holding it in phase with the antenna for it to work. I’ve scanned my remote with HackRF and analyzed it to get the exact freq. I’ve also tuned my receiver antenna with a VNA to make sure it’s set to 433mhz. But that’s the receiver portion of ESPSomfy. The transmitting seems much better. I can send commands to my awning from 50 feet away.
As far as the wind sensor, it works. I got it because of the reasons you mentioned, I wanted something reliable to close my awning to avoid damage. My original wind sensor (this one https://store.somfysystems.com/eolis-rts-wind-sensor-2v-dc-kit.html?srsltid=AfmBOoqbXAqScQb6jMPoJ1FoxBnWtZURYid93ZctQm4nf9sitbN6iyQG) was not very reliable due to wind changes and it’s location. Depending on the wind direction, it was either too sensitive or not sensitive enough. BUT the radio in was always received by ESPSomfy.
The only thing I can’t figure out is why ESPSomfy cannot “hear” the new wind sensor, the old one was always heard even with it being 50 feet away from my ESPSomfy. It makes no sense.
Hi!
Let me first thank you for your work. Just set up the first hub based on the wiki. Very well documented project.
After reading through the documentation and the comments, I cant find a way to get the remote button presses as events in HA without a shade added to the hub (I bought an Somfy RTS Keypad 2 to use as a keyless entry with HA, I don’t have any other Somfy device). The transciever log shows the button presses as Toggle commands but the events are only recognized in HA if I register a “dummy” shade and pair the keypad as a remote. Do I have to use a dummy shade or is there any workaround for that?
Thanks!
Would it be possible to include rs485 modbus rtu master/slave topology to this project and where would the code be included, in the integration or directly in the controller? If I would be able create a rs485 sensorbus to a diy weatherstation and a rs485 fieldbus for espSomfy motorcontrollers would be really really great.
Anybody else is experiencing problems with Home Assistant 2025.10 and this integration?
I got an error while loading the integration.
On the 2025.09 works just fine!
Edit: error in the logs is:
Setup failed for custom integration 'espsomfy_rts': Requirements for espsomfy_rts not found: ['websocket-client==1.8.0'].
I can find a previous error which is related:
Unable to install package websocket-client==1.8.0: error: failed to remove file `/usr/local/lib/python3.13/site-packages/../../../bin/wsdump`: Permission denied (os error 13)
Oops, solved.
Nothing to do with this integration.
I just need to update the script I use for the docker image:
Hello, I’m trying to pair my Axroll roller shutter. The frames from the remote control are correctly detected.
However, the procedure to add a new remote requires pressing a button on the roller shutter control box for 3 seconds at the same time as the button on the remote control to be configured.
There is only one button on the remote.
Is there a way to simulate a long press in ESP Somfy RTS when adding a roller shutter?
2. Register the code
(Axroll can store up to 32 channels)
Press simultaneously the button of the remote control you want to program and the “+” button on the Axroll for three seconds, until the dashes “– –” appear.
Really no idea
myself, sent “wind” status via virtual remote.
This is truly amazing! Thank you so much for your efforts! I have a question that is specific to my situation: all my Somfy roller shutters are working well with this package. Unfortunately the previous owner replaced 4 of the Somfy units with 1 whose controller says Wagner 1 (with CAME on the back), 2 labeled “v2 Proteo”, and 1 that is a tiny controller that only says “Cool” on it.
Is there a way to get these other ones integrated into this package? If it requires another ESP32+E07 unit with the radio tuned differently, that would be OK.
Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks again for an amazing system!

This is awesome, I just stumbbled upon this after buying a house full of these hunter douglas blinds with somfy remotes all over the place. I am about to begin the journey of getting the parts and wondering if anyone has a recent amazon shopping list?
Unfortunately the antenna he recommends in the wiki is no longer available. The Transciever he likes I found on walmart but via slow boat. I couldt find a POE w32 on amazon that was decently priced.
I am in the usa, i would settle for not amazon if i can get it all in 1 place not via slow boat, that would rock.
Amazon.com: SHUATI Frequency Transceiver Module CC1101 Durable 433MHz Integrated Circuits Practical Industrial Grade Wireless Transceiver Module DIY : Electronics This is what I used. It does seem to have a hard time on RX “hearing” the remote beyond 10ft from the ESP, and no amount of tuning makes it work better. The TX is great though. I just hid all the remotes and use HA to ESP Somfy and that works great.
You can search and buy all the parts from AliExpress. I have this for example: I just found this on AliExpress:
NOK22.64 | CC1101 Wireless Module With SMA Antenna Wireless Transceiver Module For 315/433/868/915MHZ

Hey, did you ever fix this?
Not really. With winter setting in now, I will have to get back to this next spring.
Just wanted to say thank you!
Awesome documentation, easy setup, all features one can dream of, it ist just incredible.
It was my first ESP32 project and I was almost a little sad it was done after just one evening.
@rstrouse Any chance you’re still around and would say hi?
@others Is there a procedure when we notice a maintainer of a formidable project has disappeared? I mean to find a new maintainer who would fork it or ask for it to be integrated into HA core to make sure things keep working with HA updates
Folks, @rstrouse was last seen on Mar 13, 2025.
Any clues what happens to the project now. Issues and Pull Requests have piled up and no sign of rstrouse.
Anyone picked the project up and continued it ?
