Every Z-wave device is added double

Hi, I have docker installation with zwave.me stick (bought specially for Home Assistant, because the AeonLabs doesn’t work.)

I’ve added a few Fibaro devices to my network, and to my surprise these devices show up twice;

To be clear; I have one FGBS222, Three FGD212 Dimmers, and one FGS213 switch. I cannot delete the extra onces.

The original devices (without the (2)) work, and I’ve healed and reboted already…

It’s normal. HA creates a device for each instance (endpoint) of a multi-channel device.

Thanks for clearing that up, at least I stop trying to fix this. But I don’t think it’s proper, makes managing everything a mess and it’s confusing. But hey!, who am I…

Woohaaa, I’ve been struggling with something similar like this. See this post
This thread seems to suggest they are not old nodes showing up, but it’s normal HA behavior to create 2 devices for a single Zwave device? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Not quite. @freshcoast said, it’s normal behaviour to create a device for each instance of a multi-channel device.

So, for a Fibaro FGWPE/F wall plug, I see a single device in HA for each wall plug. For Fibaro FGS211
or FGS212 3kW switches, I see three devices for each switch, and for a Fibaro FGRGBWM441 RGBW controller, I see six devices…

It is confusing, but apparently normal behaviour.

I’m more used to the situation in Domoticz, where physical devices are listed once in the ZWave Node list, and their multiple logical devices are listed separately in the Devices list.

Yes, I stand corrected, for a multi-channel device I meant.
I must say I was not aware of that term before, never knew that some of my Fibaro devices are “multi-channel”. And honestly, I can’t remember them showing up as multiple devices earlier. But then again, the interface for managing devices and integrations has changed so often the lasts years that I missed it. Especially with me replacing dead z-wave devices for new ones.

I do wish HA didn’t have this behavior though. It’s very confusing.
