"External" temperature sensor for climate

Hello,
I got some Eurotronic Spirit Z-Wave thermostat. They are working with the climate component fine.

Now i like to go a step further. I’ve got also a lot of temperature sensors in different devices. I like to combine them with a template to on temperature sensor. These new template should be the current temperature for my thermostat, so that the device should set the temperature correctly.

Is this possible to setup something like this? The template sensor shouldn’t be the problem, but override the current temp for my thermostat.

Update current temperature for Z-Wave thermostats

Some Z-Wave radiator thermostats like Danfoss 014G0013 don’t report the temperature to the controller and Home Assistant displays the current temperature as none. I wrote a small python script that takes the temperature value from the specified sensor and fills the thermostat state with each thermostat and temperature change. I have an Eurotronic smart valve for my radiators, connected via zigbee2mqtt, and few external temperature source (Xiaomi sensors). Did anyone manage to force-feed external temperature as current_temperature in a device? Is this even possible?

If not, is there any known way of driving climate set point by script or automation? Is toggling ON/OFF a good idea?
