Hey all, I’ve forked the original FiatChamp integration and added a few things such as engine start. I’ve also added a few more brands but unsure if they work or not. I’m not a super experienced coder so feel free to submit a pull request if something can be improved.
I found problems with the FiatChamp add-on a year or two ago and changed to the FiatUconnect one by AirBeeSee.
You might find much of what you were after is provided by FiatUconnect.
Ok guys, so I’ve spent a couple of evenings and baked a pure Python Fiat integration that one can install from HACS by adding a repo there: GitHub - blind-oracle/hass-fiat
So far for my Fiat 500e it works fine, but your mileage may vary. Please test if anyone is interested and open an issue if you’re having problems.
Currently it has no releases, I just commit a new hash and it will update in Home Assistant through HACS normally. Maybe if there’s a demand I’ll add a proper release cycle later.
FiatUconnect was actually my original base repo haha. I integrated the features of FiatUconnect to the original FiatChamp and added a few things that were not present in either. Some additions include more regions (Asia/Canada) and brand support (Ram/Dodge/Chrysler/Maserati) along with remote engine start/stop like stated before. The only things I can think to add is the door lock status and engine status (If I can find the API data.)
You can run it in Docker or via a Home Assistant Addon.
Hi,
I just bought a Fiat 500 La Prima 2021. It has been activated but it seems it’s not yet full activated. I’ll take delivery the vehicle Friday.
I tried to lock the doors but it failed.
I discovered while searching, I might required to pay for a subscription to be able to use the remote commands. Is that correct ? Or will the integration work without Uconnect subscription ?
Coming from Tesla, it’s a bit of a shock …
Yes, to get info from the car & send commands you need a subscription. It’s around 10-15 bucks a month (depending on where you are)
In UK I pay £2.70 monthly
Quite cheap, it’s 13 CHF in Switzerland But I guess here we have to pay shitload for everything…
Here there are several optional levels of service, ‘My Car’ is the cheapest and is sufficient to get remote monitoring and control. Other options add map updates and rescue.
Weird how they make it so different for different markets.
We have a free “Connect ONE” (well, it says free until 2033) that enables roadside assistance, customer service and other minor stuff.
And “Connect PLUS” for 13.50 that adds all the rest. No middle ground…
The basic package for my Jeep in the US is over 15 USD per month. It’s so ludicrous, I can’t justify it.
It’s outrageous. So without subscription in Switzerland, I’ll have nothing ? That is why I can’t see anything on the app ?
It is soooo confusing:
-
Connect plus: CHF 13.50/m or 135.00/y
-
My Assistant CHF 35.99/y
-
My Car: CHF 3.59/m or 35.59/y
-
My Navigation: CHF 11.00/m or 110.00/y
-
My Remote: CHF 3.59/m or 35.99/y
-
My Alert Light: CHF 4.95/m or 49.00/y
-
My Alert: CHF 9.00/m or 90.00/y
WTF ??? Simple is better. And no table to explain what contains what features.
This is a terrible user experience and it’s a common issue among companies who were not born in the digital era but are desperately trying to transform into a digital company.
That’s were the new companies have a great advantage: they started with digital centric design where older companies, car manufacturer or any other industry, keep designing product first and then add digital stuff.
So I’ll go now dig into this shit in the app to understand what I really need. In fact all I need is telemetry and remote commands. The rest, Home Assistant will hopefully manage
In UK, ‘My Car’ allows me to monitor the car with Home Assistant Fiat 500e UConnect and to use the app functions
