Fibaro 'The Button' - Need help to get it to work

hi All,
I have a big red button - the Fibaro ‘The Button’.

I have the z-wave integration, and I have over 30 entities (almost all of them associated with this button… see below.

But, can someone tell me how I can get something to actually happen when I press the button once?

I’ve messed around with the single click entities, but nothing seems to work. I just don’t really understand these entities, If I am being honest… tey seem to be config entities.

Any help you can give is much appreciated.

buttons in zwave works with events.
They are no switches after all, the are scene controllers.

You can work with the events directly, but you can also use a blueprint, which simplifies things…

The above option by BebeMischa will definitely work. Another option is on the device page click the plus sign next to automation and choose one of the options in the popup. Try selecting different ones to find the best one that fits you.

I seen this in my research, and I’ve never really used blueprints, as I thought they were some what ‘no longer useful /used’ - so I ignored it…

Yeah, I’ve been there and understand what you mean. Sometimes the options are easy to understand but in your case I can see the issue. It sounds like the blueprint worked which is all that matters.
