fibaro has good hardware but I also want an update. Maybe we will start writing on the fibaro forum about the need to provide updates?
I don’t do much on their forum - I think that a dozen or so posts will be noticed by fibaro.
Is it still not possible to update the Fibaro Firmware through Home Assistant then?
It would be possible if you had access to the firmware files (i.e. there is no technical reason making it impossible, but only Fibaro’s company policy).

Yes, the limiting factor is not home assistant, its Fibaro.
