Fresh Hass.io Installation does not work correctly!?

I made a fresh Hassbian installation on a Raspberry Zero.
But it is indicated to me that following components could not be loaded:

  • eq3btsmart.climate
  • fritz.device_tracker
  • openhome.media_player

Before the last update I didn’t have such problems.
And on Hassio everything is going well too.
What is wrong!??

I have also installed the suites:

  • custom-component-store
  • manager

But when i try to install some custom components, i get a Server Error 500!?

Hassbian or hassio?

I opened the topic because it doesn’t work with Hassbian anymore. Since the current update it doesn’t work with both Hassio and Hasbian anymore.

Everything was great before.
I suspect that the required script is no longer available after the update.

Your dependency failed to install/compile.

Given that you’re using Hass.io, as based on your logs, I’ve changed the title and moved it to the Hass.io section.

Dear Admin,
That’s not right!
This problem first occurred with a Hassbian update on Hassbian then I completely reinstalled Hassbian (See in Post #1). Then further problems occurred like:

  • fritz.device_tracker
  • openhome.media_player
  • eq3btsmart.climate

Also, the suites are not running correctly!

That’s the only reason why I switched to Hass.io, because it still worked. But with the update to version 0.94.0 the day before yesterday this doesn’t work anymore.

And actually I want to use Hassbian, but I have the impression that it is no longer supported?

I’ve seen it, but you can’t do anything with Hass.io. Or do I see it wrong?

The component says they need a version of that module from Feb 2018. Perhaps it is not compatible with newer Python versions.
I think Hassio now uses python 3.7. I know Hassbian now uses Python 3.7

I’m back at 0.93.2, let’s see if the skirpts will be adjusted at some point or support will be discontinued.

Well we know Python 3.5 support will be removed the first HA update after August 1.

It’s one of the three recommended options for installing Home Assistant. Not sure why you think it’s no longer supported.

If you want assistance getting these resolved on the latest Hassbian, I recommend just trying to add them one at a time and resolving any issues.

If you choose that path, the forum is here to assist in troubleshooting assuming you provide configuration & log information…

Running a venv environment and python 3.6.7,

pip3 install python-eq3bt

Fails on building bluepy

OK, that’s a start.
What exactly are the error messages? If you copy & paste here we have help you sort through the verbosity.

EDIT I just tried it and was missing an installed library but your issue may be different.

I get the impression because:

  1. there is an extra category for Hass.io here but none explicitly for Hassbian.

  2. the page https://home-assistant.github.io/hassbian-scripts/ is not maintained, some broken links for a test click “Suites” and you get a 404 because the link is not right. It must read as follows: https://home-assistant.github.io/hassbian-scripts/suites/

  3. currently unusual problems with Fresh Installation on Raspberry Zero W and I haven’t found anything here. 1-2 months ago there were no problems Fresh Image, switch on about 20-30 minutes later start.

I just flashed a fresh Hassbian image on a Rpi Zero W. When it’s ready, I’ll add a thermostat and then we’ll go through it step by step.

That is new documentation (within the past 2 weeks) that appears to be a mess and is broken…
I think they mean to point to the doc files in this directory.

  1. Hass.io has a separate section because the add-ons etc made people think there was a need. Hassbian is just Raspbian, so nobody thought there was a need for it

  2. It was broken recently as the developer is re-working things, they know, and they’re on it. But… you know what, we’ve all got other lives too

  3. A Pi Zero is not recommended for anything other than testing. A 30 minute first start is within what’s expected.

We all still have a life next to our automated home  It shouldn’t be a reproach only to show why I got the impression.

I know the Rpi Zero is not recommended for productive systems. But this is the rule in any project and most of the time it works very well. And it needs less power than its big brother, which makes it very attractive to me.

I have here 3 Rpi Zero’s for Multiroom Audio 1 Zero for my old Smart Home (SHC / https://www.rpi-controlcenter.de/) and 2 Rpi 3 for Kodi media system.

And currently 2 Zeros to test HA.
