Fuel/Gas Prices integration

Not currently, I could add “Fuel Prices” to the name but the entity ID is generated by HA not the integration. You can filter by integration in Home Assistant within templates natively anyway so this is probably not worth the change in my view.

Thanks for your prompt response …
I think HA will generate based on the name you give it so should not be an issue.

With lots of entities from multiple integrations I have tried to maintain a naming approach to entities so its easy to understand what’s what. Most integrations include a reference to the integration name in their entity names so its usually not an issue … but that is my problem not yours … I will just work with what you have provided.

Hey there, I am from germany and I can’t get this integration to work. Tried to set it up like written in the manual, but I don’t get any data.

Tried it for the region munich with data source tankerkoenig, but no chance it will retrieve any data :\ some ideas?

Hi, you could also try carbu.com HAC integration for cheapest fuel price at chosen location or on a route. Currently supporting Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Italy and US.

Sorry hadn’t seen this, do you get any data on their website for your area?

Also try using the search fuels service to find fuels for other areas.

Have you looked at the AllStar web site as a source for UK prices? The current source has poor coverage in a lot of places I have found due to independents not being required to provide their information.

https://allstarcard.co.uk/tools/uk-fuel-prices

No, I do however have a task to do PetrolPrices. The existing sources for UK though are the most accurate public sources available as they come straight from the fuel companies themselves.

Hi all - are other people getting the same error in the Morrisons JSON file: Home Assistant is giving me the feedback error:

Template variable error: No first item, sequence was empty. when rendering

And when I check the Morrisons JSON file it looks as though quite a lot of stations are missing: https://www.morrisons.com/fuel-prices/fuel.json

Has something changed which I’m not aware of?

Same response here, only around 70 fuel stations showing, out of the 6 or 7 in Norfolk, only 1 station is being returned (although no errors).

Yes - hopefully they may recognise and update this week.
I might drop them a line…

what stations are missing?

all omv stations

can you give an example of a station please? The data source seems fine for me, but I’m also not in Romania. Also could you test if those stations are appearing in the Peco Online app?

I see a lot of their fuel stations are still missing, did you ask Morrisons about it?

@11harveyj I see the fuel prices for the UK have been changed to pounds and pence now. I understand why this was done, but is it possible to have a configuration option where we can still have these in pence for display in dashboards, as all fuel prices are given in pence and I would rather keep it this way. I don’t really fancy creating multiple template sensors to multiply each one by 100.

Sorry for the late response - I did. But a very useless answer from their help desk! So no answer…

Hi,

i have some trouble setting up the app.
To get it working with basic setup i only would need to configure the data source (Spritpreisrechner) and complete the setup.
The integration is correctly created but i dont see any entities?
I tried to create a entity for a new Area Home.
Do i need to set a fuel Type or set a “State to show on the created sensor” (default name) ?

The debug log only tells me that the entrys are created, but nothing more:

2024-11-10 13:15:04.798 DEBUG (MainThread) [custom_components.fuel_prices.coordinator] Finished fetching 01JCAZEN8PSABT3NMYFP8667G6 data in 1.484 seconds (success: True)
2024-11-10 13:15:04.799 DEBUG (MainThread) [custom_components.fuel_prices.sensor] Registering entities for area homeassistant
2024-11-10 13:15:05.323 DEBUG (MainThread) [custom_components.fuel_prices.sensor] Registering entities for area Home

Edit:
I added the integration as repo in the HACS store and installed it that way, this shouldnt create an problem?

Hi,

Only thing I can think of is that there are no fuel stations being returned in the given radius (defaults to 5 miles).

Are you able to share some coordinates so I can test?
