Does anyone know, whether "Gardena smart Water Contro"l is enough to control watwering via HA or is the “GARDENA smart Gateway 19000” needed too?
in my setup, the smart water control connects to the smart gateway, which connects to the gardena cloud, from where HA is getting the status from.
I’m not sure if you can directly connect to the smart water control without any gateway, but from the nature of this integration, I would say it’s not possible
cheers, I will try it out and report
Hello,
I finally found a solution: Install an old version and update it.
now, i would like this view but in French as in the image: which file should I modify?
Additional Info: Gardena Water COntrol needs the Gardena Gate to function.
I have a similar problem (mentioned above) with Gardena integration:
It failed from version 1.0.0b900. I tried to generate a new API on https://developer.husqvarnagroup.cloud/. I filled in “http://localhost:8080” to Redirect URLs column (newly mandatory). Then filled in the generated API to Gardena integration and password to the second line:
I tried to downgrade to older versions but without any success.
Log shows:
2022-06-24 15:16:14 WARNING (SyncWorker_2) [homeassistant.loader] We found a custom integration gardena_smart_system which has not been tested by Home Assistant. This component might cause stability problems, be sure to disable it if you experience issues with Home Assistant

Any idea?
Thank you.
Hi Tomm206
I have to put these :
Im not able to login…
E-mail : Same for login to Husqvarna Developer Portal
Password: Same as above.
And then i used Application key.
Connected APIs is:
- Authentication API
- Automower Connect API
- GARDENA smart system API
Urls: https://*****.duckdns.org:8123/redirect/oauth
What is not correct ?
Edit:
Might be lost in translation, but also tried «Application key/Application secret»
“1126da72-ba19-453c-aaf6-839…………/ ad3f91a9-ff57-4b52-8bef……….”
That did not work.
Version 0.2.3
Had the same issue. I just used the newest beta that was only asking for API Key and Secret - that did the trick.
Beta 1.0.0-0b901
Unfortunately that latest version has an issue. It does not refresh the OAuth tokens. So your connection will get lost within a day or two and you will have to reconnect manually by deleting and re-adding the integration in HA. See Integration gets stuck once a day · Issue #121 · py-smart-gardena/hass-gardena-smart-system · GitHub for details.
@Grm is aware of the issue and will try to solve it when his time allows.
Hi, thanks for your proposal. I tried that but unfortunately still the same result.
I also tried older beta version but still: failed to set up.
add your home assistant adress like this http ou https://“your home assistant adress”:8123/auth/external/callback
Thanks Jörg for this information
Thanks for the proposal. I tried all of these redirect URLs:
https://“my home assistant IP address”:8123/auth/external/callback
http://localhost:8080
I also tried to remove all applications on Husqvarna Developer Portal and created the new one.
Still the same result in Gardena integration: failed to set up
Any idea?
Thanks
After struggling with the Gardena Smart System integration, I removed it and downloaded the newest beta version: 1.0.0-0b901.
After filling in my application key and application secret below in the password field, the integration discovered my water control device.
It does not ask for a redirect URL.
Not sure if this is the “general Gardena Smart System”-topic, but I’m looking for some ideas and suggestions.
I’ve set up the smart system correctly. I can easily add logical automations eg: if the weather state changes to rainy or pouring, stop mowing and go back to the base. Works like a charme.
I want to go one step further:
I have 2 zones, the front and back yard.
I want to set up following automation: If my mobile phone is not in the house (= i’m out of the house) I want the mower to avoid zone 2. This for security reasons. So the mower don’t get stolen.
Is there a way to tell the mower to go to a certain zone or leave a certain zone?
Thanks!
This is the only real thread I found on the internet regarding the gardena smart system and homeassistant…
I have the gardena smart water control but do not know how to get it setup in homeasssistant. Is the gardena gateway required for this device?
Yes, the gateway is required
