Get values from past 7 days (now - 7 days) from Z-Rain Popp sensor

Hi all,

I’ve a Z-Rain Popp sensor which collects rain mm/h and other values. How can I show (probably with history_stats?`) the amount of rain for the past 7 days? I’v no state with on/off, only the value of the amount (cumulative)

Hi, I’ve already checked that 2 possibilities but I have not managed to get it working.

  • History statistics needs a state which I don’t have
  • Statistics Sensor has not the capability for last 7 days

Do you have a sample with a sensor that has only a numeric value?

I was thinking that your sensor reported a daily value already. You could then use a sample size of 7 to use the statistics sensor, and use the total attribute. After re-reading your first post it looks like the sensor just increases with a numeric value over time, not a set reporting schedule.

Sorry, not sure how you could break that down.

It’s an old thread but I’d like to hijack it with a question regarding the Z-rain. Does it work for you in HA? I have an issue where the Z-rain reports rain, like 5mm, pretty fast but then keeps telling HA it’s still 5mm until it rains again and then adds the new rain amount to the old one.
