Hi guys has anyone performed the integration of google assistant lately. This procedure does not work anymore Google Assistant - Home Assistant apparently google has migrated to Google Home Developer Console and the procedure is different. I would love to be pointed in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks Tinkerer for taking the time to respond. Much appreciated
Try this for a wonderfully simple way to connect to Google Home and Alexa to HA locally via Matter
It’s a game changer
Thanks Ive installed matter addon and it installed with no errors. Is there anything else I have to do to get it working?
Just follow the guide, create a hub, choose which entities to share and then pair with Alexa/Google
Sorry for my ignorance is a hub hardware or software. I think i should focus on the google intergration as i dont brleive my sonoff switches are natter compatible. All i really want is to control my devices using google assistant as the voice recognition in home assistant is really unreliable.
Im really enjoy tinkering but does get frustrating and i half know what im doing ill hate to think what total beginners would do.
The hub is software, you create them in the addons UI. There is a guide here
https://smarthomescene.com/guides/exposing-home-assistant-entities-as-matter-devices/
for a slightly older version, but you can follow the workflow, including setup in Google home.
Also another thread on the subject here
Brilliant thanks ill check it out…
In your opinion is it better to go down this pathway or the google assistant pathway? Im assuming with the matter pathway you can still give google commands when your outside your network?
Yes, you can choose which entities to expose to Google Home / Alexa and everything is done locally.
Yes. you can give Google commands when your outside your home
My addon looks nothing like any of the documents and youtube videos…have I installed the wrong addon/intergration?

Yes, that’s the incorrect integration.
It’s this one
Hey I got it working the first time…because this is my test install before I roll it out on my live instance. I tried to repeat the install process so that I know what Im doing. I deleted the matt hub, deleted all my devices in google home unlinking all my brands such as ewelink and sonos and tried to reproduce my install. The addon matt hub installed fine and found all of my devices. This time when I try to scan the code into google home i get an error that I require a hub for matter to setup and control google home. Was I not suppose to unlink my accounts in google home. Ive now tried several times and I get the same error about requiring a hub.
Thanks
Can someone confirm whether this workflow is correct:
Install Home-Assistant-Matter-Hub
Integrate Matte (Beta) not sure if this is required
Open WebIU for Matter Hub
Create Bridge
Look for devices that it finds on your network
Scan QR code using google home app
If this is correct I get an error that I require a hub for matter to setup and control google home.
I have completed started from a fresh home assistant install.
It actually worked the very first time I did it in my older install.
I wanted to cleanup all my older devices in google home so I could do a fresh bridge, this when all my problems occured, is there anything in google home that needs configuring?
Thanks
Yes, the workflow is correct, but you don’t need the Matter (Beta) integration installed.
I did this in my setup i.e. deleting all the manufacture specific ‘Works with Google’ links in Google home. I ended up factory resetting all my Google hubs in the end…
I would try repowering your higher devices first and then try the setup again. I found it best to restart the Matter-Hub addon then attempt the pairing with after that.
I dont have any google hubs…just my phone (android) it worked first time when I did it few hours back. Now I’m pulling my hair out.
Dont know if this helps but this is log from Matter Server:

Looks like those errors are from the HA Matter server which doesn’t need to be installed (that is for connecting matter devices to HA), you just need the Home-Assistant-Matter-Hub addon.
Remove the matter server integration and give it another go…
It should work just using my phone?..has to becuase it worked once…i did try with the server uninstalled. Ill try again tomorrow its late now. Really appreciate your help.
I have installed this add-on, added a bridge for Alexa on Port 5540 and included my light label. I then restarted this add-on and went into my Alexa app, but I don’t see any new devices being detected on the Alexa side. What am I missing?
You have to add the matter hub to Alexa (Add device, select Matter and follow the workflow)
