I prefer the “old” Google Drive add-on. It offers a simple connection, is easy to use, and is robust. The new integration in Home Assistant is far too complicated.
What a stuff around. I can’t for the life of me figure this out. I’ve been working in IT for over 20 years. If i follow this exactly step by step, the instructions aren’t right:
e.g. when I click OAuth consent screen menu like from step 5, it redirects away from APIS and Services to Google Auth Platform / Overview.
I found another help request where it said to go here to get to the OAuth constent screen:
But again it redirects away.
This is what I had to do to get it to work.
After setting up the client and the OAuth credential,
From APIs and Services section (Search for it in the top bar if you can’t find it),
on the left hand menu click “OAuth consent screen”, it will redirect to Google Auth Platform / Audience,
on the left hand menu click “Audience”,
Under Testing, click “PUBLISH APP”
Click Confirm.
The official HA G Drive integration instructions are out of date.

UPDATE, ok, I got it working. If anyone get stuck in the same loop as i did…
Seem to be some strange glitch in the Google UI, to get out of the “you need to setup you consent screen”, I used a direct link to the “add client” provided in the post above, then, it all of a sudden just worked!!
Google is supposed to be the pros in HMI:-) hahaha

OK, shit, as everyone know by now, Google changed the OAuth inteface and the instructions doesn’t work.
1. So someone, where do I find the setting to create the “application” and to add the correct Authorized redirect URIs?
2. In the create client, in the new Google UI, they talk about uploading loggo, and adding links to domains, is this needed?? I get stuck in a loop, not allowed to create any OAuth clients as I don’t have a consent screen setup correctly?
It’s not that I’m a beginner in SW systems, as somone else saying above, been working in IT/SW development in +25 years. Heck I found my old google cloud project now when logging in that I forgot about (was running the HA DB in google cloud for a while and managed to get that running).
Any help appreciated:-)

I have read this whole post multiple times and I’m still lost. I had the old Google Drive working with a plug-in and I tried to switch it over to running the newer Google Drive that built into HA.
On the branding screen, it asks for the authorized domain. What on earth do you put there?
I ignored the domains etc in the branding screen, and there I was stuck until I used the direct link above to actually be able to create the client configuration.
