HA down/timeout

I don’t know what holding the shift key has to do with it.

I can’t repair the partition because it is mounted, so I need to put it in recovery mode (shift key on reboot)

The command for unmount is umount

I tried that but fsck doesn’t do anything once it’s unmounted

As has been said before, your SD card is probably irretrievably screwed. I am not sure why you are persisting. Move on.

As @nickrout has suggested, your SD card is probably irretrievably damaged.
Plug it in to your PC and see if you can recover your config files

Do I need to get a new micro sd card or can I boot my new ssd w/adapter without one?

pi3 or pi4?

Rasp Pi4 !!

There are some howtos on this forum. I haven’t done it myself, if I spot one that looks good I’ll post back

Try Installing Home Assistant on a RPi 4b 8GB with SSD boot

I booted from ssd without sd but now I’m stuck here. Any advice?

What do you mean “stuck”. Do you get HA is you go to another computer and go to http://ip-of-pi:8123

Whoops I went to homeassistant:8123 instead and that wasn’t working. Now I’ve been trying to restore from snapshot for the past hour. About how long should this take?

The snapshot is still loading but I went to my raspberry pi IP and it loaded my old snapshot. Strange

I don’t think everything has fully loaded. I tried to update from 0.110.3 to .117.4

and it errored and said see supervisor but supervisor logs are empty.

and this:

500 Server Error: Internal Server Error (“open /mnt/data/docker/overlay2/98dca09d23e29222a6e5760205beee3207ee1fd95f6859afa0be0dfc70c26281/lower: input/output error”)

Now the ui/lovelace doesn’t load

these are the logs

Maybe the ha 0.117.4 image for rpi is not ready yet.

Oops. I replied to this but realised that pretty much everything I said has been covered by other posts. Having read the other posts, if a fresh install and restore from a snapshot doesn’t work, then you are in a bit of trouble. Maybe you’ve got a bit much going on at once? Why not use a fresh install on a new SD card and try to restore your snapshot or config files to that? You may be introducing new issues by trying to mount a SSD drive.

Do you think it could have to do with how the partition is spaced?
