Today I tried to update to HA OS 16.1 on my HA Yellow. I am using ZHA.
Unfortunately HA OS 16.1 breaks Zigbee again, like the two OS 16.0 attempts the team had released.
When can we expect a functioning new version, that does not break Zigbee on a Yellow?
I downgraded again using
ha os update --version 15.2
Thanks

With respect for the developers, I do not understand why this has not been adressed by them.

Zigbee is widely used and there are very few reports of problems, so maybe it is something with your setup, which the devs have no chance of solving.
What does the logs say?
It appears to be something specific to the Yellow Box and that is why various users have commented.

Which log file are you interested in?
I don’t know where to look and what to look for.

There have bee plenty of reports of this issue in this forum. I do not think I am the only one
The Core 8.3 update did not break Zigbee

It’s not specific to any Yellow. I have a yellow, use Zigbee, and am on 16.1. Not one lick of problems. So it’s a combination of the Yellow and something specific in certain setups.

If this pertains to USB plugs for ZigBee and Thread, then one thing to try is to SSH into HA and type in dmesg
and see what it says about those plugs.

I don’t know but I am on 2008.8.3 and 15.2
Maybe tomorrow I try 16.1 but I am not alone with this issue.

Found the issue. I had the Silicon Labs Multiprotocol Add-On installed. Removed it, reconfigured the Yellow to Zigbee only.
After that update to HA OS 16.1 worked without problems

Yup. There is a reason that multi-protocol setup is not recommended or supported.
Major problem. I removed it and then my Zigbee did not work.
I re-installed it and Zigbee worked, but now my Zwave does not work. I restored a backup but that did not help.

using paths like /dev/ttyUSB0 ? those can switch places.
It was connected to
/dev/ttyAMA1
and I changed to
/dev/ttyAMA0
It is restarting now
My Zwave works after in Yellow activating Zigbee, but the Zigbee does not work yet. Should I remove the Multiprotocol ?

Yes, you need to remove multiprotocol
I really appreciate your help.
I removed the Multiprotocol and after that I restarted HA, but the Zigbee does not work.
I saw that ZHA is still looking for the Multiprotocol:
How do I change that ?

You need to reconfigure ZHA
