I know that this has been a recent problem when HAOS upgraded to version 15.x, for many including users of HP Thin Clients, and not sure it was actually resolved for HP Thin client users or not:

Just upgraded my install (on a Pi 5) to HA OS 15 - but it’s gone completely unreachable for over half an hour now. My parents’ install (same hardware) has done the same… At what point is it safe to do a hard reboot - I’m always wary incase it’s still doing an update in the background… but half an hour seems like a long time!
