hassOS 4.8 upgrade breaks my install

Just updated everything again since my Supervisor kept on crashing.
I’m now on:

Supervisor Version 228 with notification of Latest version 227 :fearful:
System HassOS 4.10
Home Assistant 0.111.0

Let’s hope everything remains stable for now

Edit:
Update 2 hours in. Still stable

Supervisor 228 is not out. It is not in beta or in dev channel. How did you update to that release?

Mine updates to 228 automatically and then went back to 227 automatically. Weird.

It was in the supervisor menu. Update from 227 to 228…
And now it wants to update back

Do we think the OS upgrade to 4,10 is now safe? i.e. are all the previous issues which necessitated re-installation of HA now resolved?

I couldn’t find the issues in the release notes. But my setup is still running nicely without a crashing supervisor.

Just updated to 4.10 (from 4.8) and HA 0.111.1

Seemed to boot up ok and everything is “so far so good”. Will see how we go.

It’s still functioning :+1:

Just in case someone had problems with the 4.8 upgrade (as it was my case) and is still waiting using the 3.13 version, today I upgraded to the 4.10 from the 3.13 version without problems so far.

I’m still seeing an OS update to 4.17 in the Supervisor on my tinkerboard S (from my current version 3.13) but I’ve not tried updating yet as it might break my setup. Is the emmc support in 4.17 or do we need to wait until the 5.x OS releases? Is it definitely supported again?

Everything works perfectly as-is so I’m in no rush. The 16gb emmc is the best feature of the tinkerboard s and Home Assistant has been rock solid stable since I set it up in March 2019. My old Pi 3 had been eating microSD cards at an unreal rate before that.

Support has been added back in HA OS 5.2. Releases 5.x are currently in beta. So you have 2 choices: wait for HA OS 5.x to be in stable or move to beta and install release 5.5 which is the latest.
I will upgrade tonight to 5.5. I will let you know

Ah great news. I’m in no rush so I’ll wait for the stable releases, thanks

I’ve upgraded and HA OS 5.5 works fine on my Asus Tinker S :grinning:
