I have a very frustrating and strange problem, since a few weeks (2-3 weeks) I get high CPU on my Home Assistant server (Intel I3 NUC) when browsing my Home Assistant (clicking around in Lovelace pages). What is even stranger is that my laptop (where I browse Home Assistant from) also get’s high CPU usage.
I have tried browsing from my Pixel Android Phone, my laptop with Chrome and Firefox and as soon as I type in the address to my Home Assistant installation my Home Assistant NUC get’s high CPU, fans making a lot of noise and the same also happens directly on the device I’m browsing from. The second I close down the Home Assistant tab on my laptop the laptops CPU usage goes down to normal.
I know these kind of issues are hard to find a solution to but any kind of feedback or input is highly welcome since my Home Assistant is kind of unusable now.
I have seen this on pages with lot of Mushroom cards. Not sure if it is connected but mine has not come to a state as unusable, just high cpu usage on my Pi.
I also have high processor use over 70% very laggy. I’m using a NUC with 4 gig and good sized SSD so didn’t expect it to have slow menu loading and extremely slow response. Only happened when I did the 2023 update
Revertered back to last backup and everything is back to normal. I’ll wait for the next release I think. Looked at processing and still over 70% but running good
Did some cleanup and remove quite a few Mushroom cards and others and after the next reboot HA kept the CPU to a very low load around 2-3% despite browsing around in the dashboards. Worked fine for 1,5 week but today all of a sudden the same thing started happening. High CPU as soon as I access HA and click around in the dashboards.
The CPU on my RP4 is constantly running at 35-40%, regardless of access via app or browser. I have the value sent to me every 20 minutes via ntfy.sh and also in the history I don’t see any difference if I’m just accessing the GUI.
Influx is disabled, many domains in the log too, I don’t use Node-Red, no voice assistants either. I could most likely think of MQTT or esphome, but those are actually very lean. I also only have a few automations that run once a minute under certain conditions. I don’t find any entries in the log that are executed too frequently or pointlessly. What is going on there? What should the CPU load be on an RP 4 under ‘normal’ conditions?
I saw that Home Assistant is probably finding an Almond integration. I had tested Almond months ago, but maybe there is still an Almond server running. Is there any way to remove Almond completely? I can’t find anything on the net about this.
