I recently tried the 1 month trial of Home Assistant Cloud but decided it’s not for me. I have removed the cloud: entry and restarted HA several times but it is still there. I have not been using default_config: for many years. Still, I searched all of my config files for both of those and they aren’t found anywhere. I have also tried the Reset cloud data option in the Home Assistant Cloud Settings panel, which does nothing.
Is there something else I’m missing? Why won’t it go away?
Well it wasn’t there before I added cloud:, so it clearly set some flag in some database or config file somewhere, which can be unset. It would be nice to not have to revert to a backup from before I added it.
If you use the free Ublock Origin ad blocker browser add-on (aka uBO), there’s an easy way. Just add this custom filter to uBO’s “Dashboard->My Filters” tab .
! Clean Up Home Assistant Settings Interface
<Your Home Assistant Domain URL>##a.list-item[href^=“/config/cloud”]
If you want to remove the “Tags” item, add this line too:
<Your Home Assistant Domain URL>##a.list-item[href^=“/config/tags”]
It’s pretty easy to make your own filters for other items. If you have tool tips turned on in your browser, just hover over items and you’ll see the URL of links. The “/config/cloud” part at the end of the filter is the end of the URL. The filter just removes list-items for which the link contains that URL fragment.
