Necroing a dead thread here.
Iāve installed the the add-on and itās connecting to Zerotier and appearing in my Central control panel but itās not getting an IP on the network. My iPhone is so everything seems to be set up right.
Am I missing something important?

I wanted to integrate Google Home Assistant + Home Assistant using ZeroTier.
Can I do that?
I cannot perform port forwarding on my router.
I wanted to integrate my Home Assistant with Google home Assistant.
I do t think you can do that. Nabu Casa will be your solution.

I am kinda thinking in a solution for ISP with double NAT in which the ISP is does not help at all.
Maybe you could provide a better insight on whether something like this would work:
Basically receive all the traffic in a cloud VM with a reverse proxy, then forward all that traffic through ZeroTier network to a local HA instance with the ZeroTier add-on.
In this case the HA instance wouldnāt need any port forwarding or open ports on router.
Internet <-> Cloud VM w/reverse proxy and ZeroTier <-ZeroTier network-> Local HA Instance.
Would this work? Not experienced with ZeroTier.

Iāve got problem, Iāve update my HA via HA application while iām connected throw Zerotier, and after the update i cant reconnect to HA via Zero tier.
does anyone familiar with this problem?

I had jaalperinās solution working with the addon, but it had intermittent functionality.
instead of ānano /etc/sysctl.confā
use āsudo nano /etc/sysctl.confā
after editing the lines in (it will probably be blank) use āsudo sysctl -pā this will load those variables into the default. proceed as normal.
ZeroTier works great for creating a private network, but only if you can put the client on all machines that need access (better than VPN)
However, because I was having intermittent functionality I recommed using WireGuard with DuckDNS if you need full access to your LAN (its a VPN server in the addon list)
Assuming you have a cablemodem AND a router
You need to tell the cablemodem to forward 51820 to your router
Then tell the router to forward 51820 to your HomeAssistant Pi
If all you need is access to Home Assistant just use DuckDNS and forward 8123 as above.
I try to use the zerotier addon.
Iām running Home Assistant as a Docker instance on Ubuntu.
Zerotier gives me the following error:
zerotier-one: fatal error: cannot bind to local control interface port
What is wrong?
I found that the Ubuntu server the port for zerptier in use has.
What can I do to use another port?

I have a problem with the latest addon release.
Supervisor page on a Home Assistant OS instance doesnāt show up when connected by ZeroTier address.
If I connect to the instance by using local lan ip, the page works flawlessly.
No info on HA logs.
Add-on version: 0.7.3
System: HassOS 4.13 (armv7l / raspberrypi4-32)
Home Assistant Core: 0.115.2
Home Assistant Supervisor: 245

I have a strange case, I set up ZeroTier, turned it on, the light is green, but my HomeAssystant is not showing up on my.zerotier.com, what could be the reason?
I have had the same case for a long time, without a solution to this day.
My guess is you have not configured the addon correctly.
My plugin was working correctly, and one day it stopped working. It never worked again. It doesnāt matter if you uninstall it and reinstall it. Have him reconfigure it 1000 times. It does not work.
