Just upgraded my install (on a Pi 5) to HA OS 15 - but it’s gone completely unreachable for over half an hour now. My parents’ install (same hardware) has done the same… At what point is it safe to do a hard reboot - I’m always wary incase it’s still doing an update in the background… but half an hour seems like a long time!
Same here
I thought IP address got changed but that’s not the case.
Yeah, I know it’s not the IP address - it’s got a fixed IP on my router, and it’s showing offline on said router… Not a wifi issue because it’s hardwired in
Same here, one RPi updated OK, the other got unreachable. After ~40min had to power cycle and it returend to the v14.
yeah, core went thorough, os didn’t
Same issue coming from 15rc2 on my Pi5 - powercycled and it’s back to 15rc2 …
Something is wrong somewhere!
I’m in the same boat as above…OS 15 on Pi5 going round in circles…Pi was pingable but no UI or Add-ons…eventually power cycled and back on OS 14.2
I have connected screen now and I can see that on RPi at the certain point there is warning: HA CLI not starting and the installer just stops on emergency console, then lots of timeouts and USB errors
OK, I bit the bullet and hard rebooted the Pi… back in, but reporting OS 14.2 - keeping well clear of that update button for the time being!
@azebro I have the same issue with my server.
I don’t know how to fix it yet, but in the GRUB menu, you can select “SLOT B”, and have access to your server, as a temporary fix.
See my full post here:
I have the same issue. System has not come back online. I will need to connect a screen and see what’s happened. Could someone explain the GRUB menu please?
I have power cycled and back to 14.2. Not trying that again…
The grab menu is shown for 2-3 seconds right after you turn the device on, before the boot actually start.
if you don’t touch the keyboard “SLOT A” will boot
press the “down key” to select “SLOT B”, and “ENTER” to boot it.
Opened issue no. 3937 on Github
I’ve very deliberately hit “skip” on 15.0!
My installation on a physical machine is also not good after the update.
home assistant cli not starting jump into emergency console
What can I do to pull it back?
The way I sorted it is to hard reboot it - turn off at wall, wait the obligatory 10 seconds, then switch back on… and pray
I already tried with pushing the power button, off, on again same issue
my wife is angry because half the house is not lighted now.
I take it you’re not using an RPi then?
