Is it possible to use the Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity on a HA Voice PE device to connect to an external Bluetooth speaker instead of connecting the HA Voice PE device to an external speaker via the 3.5mm option?

I believe the requirement is to communicate thru a media_player device, so no,I don’t think so.

Thank you for your response. You are correct in your response to my original post. I have edited my post for clarity as it wasn’t clear.

However your response did provoke ideas for more options of supported media_players of using a Bluetooth speaker connected via Bluetooth on HA/ HASSIO itself, is this possible?

Regarding my now edited post I understand it should be possible as the HA Voice PE device is an ESP32s3? But have also seen it is experimental and potentially unstable? But I would still like to try it as an option as having 3.5mm option only is a bit restrictive regarding external speaker options.

This may answer my question some what? I presume this applies to the HA Voice PE device?
