Does anyone have the ability to create something like this??
Would love to be able to use a wand from Universal Studios (Wizarding World of Harry Potter) to control devices in HA.
There’s a version that is an infra-red remote control that sends codes when you make a gesture.
I’m pretty sure somewhere on this forum I saw someone using it with a Broadlink IR receiver. You could also use an ESPHome IR receiver, or a Global Cache IR receiver.
Once you have the ability to receive IR codes in home assistant it is easy enough to trigger automations.
The bigger issue is that this device is apparently quite difficult to use. Read some reviews on Amazon. The difference between gestures is very difficult to get correct and often sends the wrong command.

Thank you, yes I did see the Kymera wand page, however the wand from Universal is a ir reflector, whereas the kymera wand is an ir transmitter, thus will not work with an esphome ir receiver.
