In order to gather data points for this issue: Unable to restore backup made with HomeAssistant · Issue #178574 · home-assistant/core · GitHub
It would be helpful to gather peoples backup sizes and not fill an issue thread with datapoints.
My last backup was 243MiB, the previous one to that was 328MiB,
Edit: I don’t care if you can restore. That’s not relevant to this discussion.
325.2Mb. Varies. Certainly bigger than 16Mb in your other thread

For my HAOS it’s approximately 1.5GB. It’s been about that size for a few years now.

Size is no guarantee of quality.
No guarantee of restoration either!
It varies, between 7-800MB.
400+ MB for my last Backups…
Cheers!
Including Apps I’m hovering at around 1 Gb, without Apps ~600 Mb. I have no issues restoring.
Before I learned to tame my database it was 3 - 4 Gb, still no issue restoring other than the time it took.
Also have no problem pulling a backup in from another instance VM.

1.2gB, but only because I moved Frigate to another computer and my /media is not in the backup.

Like @stevemann , I never include /media in my backups (as I keep it on an external drive anyway), but I include everything else. My automatic backups are about 1.55 GB. Once per week, I do a backup that doesn’t include my database history, and that backup is 1.36 GB as of the last one. I do use logger to siphon out on entity history I don’t care about, like RSSI, dBa, and lqi entities.
